Europe / Ahnentafel old German handwriting help please
« on: Saturday 08 October 16 11:30 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I've come across a document basically showing some generations back from the named person at the top. It lists names, birthplaces, locations, marriages, deaths etc back a couple of generations ie. the persons mother and father and then their parents also.

It's been signed in 1934 and then looks like it's been witnessed and countersigned once checked in 1937. Guessing it's something to do with proving heritage during the war?

The person at the top was born in 1901 and filled out in handwriting guessing old German - it's only a photocopy so quite difficult to make out some of it.

Please advise best place to post further enquiries regarding this wasn't quite sure where to post this so apologise if it's on the wrong board.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

Have found a few references regarding to Hannah AYLMER mentioned on the online indexes of the Lancashire archives.

I have no idea what is there but wondering if some kind person close by would mind checking it out for me please?

There are several mentions of my Hannah AYLMER - I'm guessing relating to inheritance she received when her husband died.
William Lister SAGAR is her son from first marriage as is her daughter Ellen (who married Sibson RIGG)
She also has daughters Julia and Mary AYLMER who seem to have inherited also according to latter census findings.

This is one reference I found: (but would appreciate any mention of the above you can find also if it's not too much trouble.)

Surrey Lookup Requests / 1901 census lookup please AYTON
« on: Tuesday 08 December 15 10:47 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Am having difficulties locating Emma AYTON in the 1901 census.

Emma was born 1837 East Worldham Hampshire.
She was was her husband Robert (a coachman born Norfolk about 1841) in the 1891 census at Morden Hall Garden.

And then a widow by 1911 visiting in Middlesex.
Unsure when Robert died but know it's after 1891 and before 1911.

Would love someone to have a go at hunting them out if at all possible.
Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance,
Lilygirl.

Family History Beginners Board / Death/will info Andrew AYLMER 1841-1851
« on: Sunday 09 August 15 06:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Not sure where to post this can someone please suggest (or move) where would be best?

Looking for death or will of Andrew AYLMER - he died after 1841 and before 1851 going by census info. Born around 1783/6 Southfield Colne Lancashire.

He married Hannah SAGAR (nee COOPER) 20 Nov 1828.

Found family on 1841 census in Isle Of Man - he joined the ministry but had to retire due to ill health.

Found Hannah in 1851 census at Catlow House, Greater Marsden listed as widow with 2 daughters - Annuitant.

Hannah died in 1852 Colne

Can't find her either of their wills so far and have no idea where I should be looking?!

Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks

World War Two / SILVERSIDES H.J. whereabouts after Military Medal?
« on: Monday 04 May 15 13:40 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Am trying to find info on Herbert John SILVERSIDES.
He was born 15th April 1925.
He was awarded a Military Medal while serving for the 26th Battalion AIF in 1945.

Can't seem to find any further mention of him regarding his life after he came home from war.
Marriage/family/death/burial etc.

Can anyone shed any light on this person at all?

Also interested to know more about how he got his medal.

Thanks in advance.
