Hi,
Looking for Magrino information. Here is what we know.
Maria Polino born in Brighton 1879, had 2 children with Pietro Magrino.
They never married because Pietro neglected to mention he had a wife and child back in Italy. We don't know their names.
They had a son Antonio born in Brighton in 1898, we have his birth cert. says 12 Cavendish St. Brighton. He was taken when he was about 8 or 9 and sent to Canada, we feel he might have been part of the Child Migrant schemes, but can find no records of his travel to Canada, or Canadian records. If you could find anything that would be great.
Maria & Pietro had a daughter Asunta born on 20 March 1900 in Brighton
Asunta was adopted in 1901 by Herbert Kiddle.
Asunta doesn't appear on the 1901 census for the Polino's who moved to the Isle of Wight after the death of Giovanno Polino, but Antonio does but he is listed under Polino not Magrino.
Asunta does not appear on her adoptive parents census either. We were wondering where she was during that time period.
I was wondering if perhaps she was put up for adoption at birth and perhaps was in a children's home, but I couldn't find anything on that. We couldn't find adoption papers, but they may not be available.
Anything you can find for those missing time slots would be appreciated.
Thank you
