Armed Forces / two headed bird, i think peacock. ww1 or before

Hi everyone
I have a two headed bird badge that I cant find any info about, I saw it in a episode of antique roadshow but I still cant find any info. On the show a lady brought it in and a man said it was "rare as hens teeth" and that it was worn in the Boer war or Egypt not sure. it has "BARTON" stamped on the back, he said something about the badge factory was turned into a ammunition's factory. I'm not sure if it is brass or bronze. I have about 40 badges now I know all the history of them but this one. don't know whether to believe the show or not.
