World War Two / Ukrainian POWs
« on: Wednesday 14 December 16 14:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,
I am trying to research a Ukrainian who is believed to have been held at Victoria Camp in Mildenhall in Suffolk, England. He passed away in the 1970s. He may also have been held at Britannia Barracks (Mousehold Heath POW Camp) in Norwich. I am aware that many of the POW at Victoria Camp were part of the Ukrainian 14 Galician Division, but I do not know if he was. There is a list of those held at Rimini, which is still classified and held at the National Archives in Kew.
My questions are, does anyone know where to find POW nominal rolls for Rimini, Victoria or Mousehold Heath Camps or those members of the 14th Galician Division?
Thanks,
Ali

World War One / Croat soldier in Trieste in 1914
« on: Saturday 15 October 16 12:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I am researching a Croat soldier born in 1875 who was in Trieste in 1914 prior to the outbreak of WW1 (see photo). I think he must have been serving in the Austro-Hungarian army, but am not sure. He was using the name Giovanni ZINDAREC/IC at the time. I am after help with two things:

1. Can anyone identify the uniform worn in the photo?

2. If identified where would the military records be? I have seen Vienna as one archive but wondered if anyone had experience of this? :)
Many thanks

World War Two / Death certificate for those killed in action during WW2
« on: Wednesday 08 June 16 14:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
I am trying to establish if a person killed in action at Dunkirk during WW2 would have had a death certificate issued to his family. I have found plenty of memorial info for him but no death certificate.
Any help would be gratefully received.
 Regards
 Ali
