Europe / France vital records
« on: Monday 05 February 24 18:18 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, I am trying to help a friend who is searching in France for her ancestors.   Is there a website where you can request a death certificate from 1918.   He died in Villeblevin.  His family was from the Paris area, but he was not living with them at the time of his death, his mother died in 1915 and I managed to find her death but not his. she died in the Paris area.   name is Eduardo Michels.  thanks for any help on where we could request a death certificate in France. I'm not familiar with searching French records.

Isle of Man / wills
« on: Saturday 31 December 22 21:48 GMT (UK)  »
I was wondering if anyone is good at reading wills.   I found a will of John Crow dated 1800. the confusing part is on page one the children listed are John Crow, Joney Crow Cottier, and Margaret Crow.  On the last page the children are different, John Crow, Margaret Crow, Jane Cleator, and catherine crow.   The last page is image 99.   would page 99 be for a different John Crow.   The death date seems to be the same May 1800.
Also I am wondering if Nairy and Aust were close to each other.
This is the will link from family search.   pages 91 through 99, last page.

Canada Resources / Website for Canadian Navy
« on: Friday 18 December 20 00:39 GMT (UK)  »
I thought this website might help a few people.  It is a website dedicated to the men and women of the Canadian navy. It has a wealth of information with pictures etc. I sent all my fathers pictures of the time he spent in the navy to the moderator there, he has created a very impressive website.   It has pictures of the men/women who served, obits in some cases, and pictures of the ships they served on.  It is well worth the look.

« on: Tuesday 19 June 18 15:46 BST (UK)  »
found an entry on family search for these stones in kc lezayre old yard.   the last two frederick and robert are my ancestors, would it seem probable that this charles crow would also be from the same family since they are buried close to each other. Frederick and Roberts father was john Crow, just wondering who this Charles might be.   maybe just a longshot and not related at all.

Isle of Man / john crow and Elizabeth Christian
« on: Sunday 17 September 17 16:47 BST (UK)  »
trying to figure out who their parents would be.   They were married in Lezayre on 31 march, 1787, and had children...Jane,John,Edward,Robert,Charles,Frederic, Rebecca and Maria.     Family search shows a tree for this family but I am not sure its correct.   they show Maria married to William Corkill, maria was married to a peter White.   it was Jane and Rebecca that were married to William Corkill, jane first, then Rebecca after Jane died.

I found some land info on John Crow Sr. giving some land to his daughter Maria, the land was East Aust
the tree on family search mentions land in Nairey/Airy so thats why I think the info there might be wrong.   another researcher told me that Nairy/Airy belonged to another Crow family, not this one.

John Crow Senior died 18 may 1832 and his wife Elizabeth died in 1833.   I have  alot of info on the children, and am now trying to figure out who the parents of john Crow and Elizabeth Christian were.   any ideas how to figure this one out??

Isle of Man / will
« on: Saturday 10 June 17 01:27 BST (UK)  »
I found this will and was wondering if anyone would know what a couple of things are. the will starts on page 291 and goes through page 294.   Will is for a John Crow Junior son of John Crow and Elizabeth christian.    he leaves right and title to his daughter Elizabeth Crow, supply of Ramsey and Fame? of Douglas, not sure if that word is fame.  would that be property.  will link is below.   John Crow sr. owned land called East Aust.
