Cheshire / wybunbury churchyard
« on: Wednesday 09 July 08 11:10 BST (UK)  »
I have found in the new cheshire records online buriel entries for several of my family members all wybunbury parish.  I have recently been over to the churchyard and can't find any headstones for this family.  Whilst I can understand that one or to might not have had one there are large branches of the family who remained in the area and they don't have them either.  Any suggestions?

Also does anyone familiar with this churchyard know if there was any order in which people were buried? For example anyone buried in the 1850's go in a particular area.  They seemed to me to be scattered everywhere and in no order but maybe I am missing something. ???

« on: Friday 27 April 07 16:05 BST (UK)  »
could anyone help me?  If a person was born after 1840 and wasn't registered could they still legally marry? didn't they need a copy of their birth certificate? ???

Am having real problems tracking down an entire family. There appears to be no birth registered but they do record some deaths (not all)

Its very frustrating :'(

England / have you ever had a problem
« on: Friday 17 February 06 15:21 GMT (UK)  »
 >:(

I don't know if there is anyone out there who can help but i need to vent my frustration :'(

For days now I have been searching on 1837 online (and at great expense) for a bunch of my relatives.

their surname is galley and they come from cheshire (wybunbury)

first I searched for the parents marriage which should have taken place around 1840 (he is john galley she is elizabeth? from plymouth) doesn't seem to exist :'(

So I tried all the children Joseph 1840,
patience (or something similar)  1844,
thomas 1846 (thought I got lucky here but it turned out to be the wrong one)
mary 1852
ellen 1855
patience 1858
james thomas 1863

would you beleive it I couldn't find any of them >:( >:( >:(

is this very unusual?

does anyone have any suggestions :'( :'( :'(

Ireland / just getting started
« on: Friday 16 December 05 15:33 GMT (UK)  »
I have just found out that  my ancestor peter benson b.1809 isn't scottish but from ireland.  This puts me in a bit of a dilemma as he doen't say where.

can anyone suggest where I might start?  I know he was married in girthon scotland in 1828 but don't know whether it will have any useful information on the marriage extraction, such as where he was from, does anyone know of the likelyhood of that?

any help would be gratefully appreciated as I just have know idea where to start :-[
