I'm having difficulty deciphering what the residence is on the attached 1840 marriage certificate for George Dixon and Sarah Nichol. They were married in Northumberland. I think it is 'Weldon Bridge' but not sure. Also, I think the occupation for George Dixon and George Nichol is 'Horse Keeper' but again not sure. As for the occupation of Alexander Dixon I can't work that one out at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Worcestershire / ROUND Family of Holly Hall, Dudley, Worcestershire
« on: Sunday 04 June 23 06:37 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have a copy of the family history publication titled "The Round family of Holly Hall, Dudley, Worcestershire" by A.T.C. Lavender published in 1992 which they no longer want. I have been searching for a copy of that publication to buy without success.

I have been researching Richard Round who arrived in Tasmania, Australia in 1862 at the age of 51 yrs along with his wife Esther aged 49 yrs on the ship "Vanguard". They were both born in Dudley, Worcestershire and are mentioned in the above publication. On the 1851 census they were living in Holly Hall, Dudley, and Richard's occupation was shown as 'shoemaker'.

I am hoping the publication will provide more details about Richard's ancestors and their lives in Dudley. I live in Queensland, Australia, and none of the local libraries or family history societies have a copy of that publication.

Thank you.

If anyone has access to the book "Families of Molong and District" by Aileen Roberson published in 1993, I'd be very grateful if you would check to see if the Lovett, Feeney or Males families are mentioned in that book. Thanks.

I live not far from the Toowong Cemetery in Brisbane, Queensland.  If you would like a photo of a particular grave/headstone in the Toowong Cemetery and are unable to visit the grave personally, I am happy to visit that cemetery to take photos.  You will need to PM me your contact email details so I can send you the photos as you can't post email details in the forum.

Regards

Lizzie

Australia / Queensland Burial - Charles COX died 1866 in Warwick
« on: Friday 13 February 15 21:07 GMT (UK)  »
Charles Cox of Warwick (farmer) was killed by a fall from a horse on 4 May 1866 in Warwick. I've located newspaper articles on his death plus an inquest report. I'm trying to locate where Charles is buried. If anyone has access to burial/cemetery records for the Warwick area, would you please check for a record of Charles' burial.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Kent Lookup Requests / Where is George Atkins grave?
« on: Monday 12 May 14 04:15 BST (UK)  »
George Atkins died on 9 January 1981 at the Buckland Hospital, Dover. He was born in 1912. His residence at the time of his death was in Shepherdswell, Dover. I'm trying to find where his grave is. As I live in Australia I don't have access to any of the records in Kent unless they have been digitised and are available online. If anyone has access to any burial records, would you please check to see if George is in those records.  Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Somerset Lookup Requests / Settlement & Bastardy Index Lookup
« on: Sunday 19 January 14 07:34 GMT (UK)  »
William Taylor was baptised 24 June 1827 at St Dunstan, Baltonsborough. His mother was recorded as Fanny Taylor, Singlewoman.

On the 1861 census William is recorded as aged 35 years and born at Baltonsborough.

Information obtained from a non confirmed source on the internet is that William's father was William Penny who died in 1827.

As William Taylor was born out of wedlock, I'd appreciate it if someone who is visiting the Somerset Record Office, would check the Settlement & Bastardy Index to see if there is a Bastardy Order in respect of William Taylor.  Any info would be helpful.
