Good morning, I wonder if anyone can help me out? One of my ancestors is Anne Mary Dew (ne้ unknown) Anne was having children around the Hillingdon area of Middlesex 1826 - 1837. Her husband was Solomon Dew who died in 1837. I have Anne Mary's name from the baptism records of her children.
In 1841 her family are living in Hillingdon - unfortunately it is the vaguest census I've ever seen with the children's ages marked as 'under 20' there are two older people living in the household ('above 20') but their names are entered as 'N.K.'
In 1851 I tracked Anne down to Islington - all of the family migrate to this area - she is 'Ann Jones' living with husband John Jones (b. abt 1804, Hammersmith) and step-sons of John - Solomon and Thomas Dew ( mistranscribed as 'Lew'. Ann(e) is listed as born Kennington, abt 1809. i can find no other records relating to her.
I am looking for two things really - firstly, some clue as to her maiden name - despite searching for years i haven't found any marriage details - 1st husband is Solomon Dew b. 1801, Iver, Bucks. Iver is just north of Hillingdon, Uxbridge and Yiewsley where the couple's children were born. According to the 1851 census Ann(e) was from Kennington, Surrey but I don't have anything else to support this.
Secondly i can also find no record of her second marriage - of course 'John Jones' is ridiculously common ( unlike Solomon Dew - there are only two of them in the country at this time) but on the offchance ... also i can find no other sightings of Ann(e) after 1851 - no other census or death records, if anyone has keener tracking senses than me I should love to fill in some details about her life story.
Thank you!
Lee
