Hi everyone. I am stumped on the following.
Cristian Mitchell born 1677 at Brechin.
George Mitchell born Jan 1679 at Brechin
Parents George Mitchell abt 1649 and Elspit Lyon born 1637 of Brechin.
The only records I can find about Elspit Lyon is she married a John Spence and that her parents are
Jon. Lyon and Elspit Watt.
But is listed on Scotlands people web site as having Cristian and George..
Now i am led to believe Jon. Lyon is the son of Sir Thomas Lyon Master of Glamis.
Please could you set me on the right track.

Hi There..
Searching for birth details/information about Andrew and  Elizabeth Crawford born about 1801 and come from Owenslann, Northern Ireland..
They and their family... James 1826, Ann 1830, John 1834, Matilda 1843 and Elizabeth 1836 came to Hobart, Tasmania on the ship "Mooltan" from Southhampton in 1854..
Ann Crawford married Robert Mitchell (from Scotland) in 1866 in Hobart, Tasmania..They are my GG Grandparents..
I am more trying to find Ann Crawfords and family Birth details, what i have cited is a guess only based on Boat manifest details

Kincardineshire / Mitchell family Kincardineshire-George Mitchell abt 1718

Hi again,,Thanks to previous hints I am now back on track..
I would like help on tracing George Mitchell born abt 1718 who married Elspet Johnstoun in 1736 at Fettercairn,Kincardine ( have marriage promise document)
They had to my knowledge 3 children, one who was robert mitchell born 1750 at Marykirk,Kincardine.

Robert married Janet Taylor  in 1776..
In turn one of their 5 children was Robert Mitchell born abt 1784 Married Helen Christison in 1807 Robert died in 1865 is one of them ( I have his death cert copy stating his parents)

One of their children was Robert Mitchell born 1809 who served in the "Life Guards" came to Tasmania (stating wanting to come to Hobart Town)
I have Robert's death cert copy (1880) but alas no mention of parents..
I do have army details  plus birth cert of his children and the signatures are fairly identical..

Sorry for the waffling, but i feel i need to write this to help paint a picture..cheers again Tony

Hello everyone..I am a direct descendant of James Mitchell born 1609..( Mark Anthony Mitchell born 1957 from Tasmania, Australia)
I have his birth certificate stating his father, James Mitchell..needing to find out if his mother was Jonet ?my one lead is James Mitchell born 1584 from Dunfermline... married to Jonet mitchell ( could be nee Crawfurd or Lawsone etc from Pencaitland or Stirling) in Pencaitland Jan 1609..they would of travelled to Elgin from Pencaitland arriving in time for James birth 27th June 1609..I do have parish baptism copies..any help would be grateful..cheers to all

Hello everyone..me again with another problem
Have established that Robert Mitchell - B 1809 was from Edzell,Angus, Scotland moved to Tasmania
Parents Robert and Helen (Christison) Mitchell - Edzell  B..1784
David and Jean (Myer) Mitchell - Montrose  B..1752
John and Jean (Stephanson) Mitchell - Montrose B..1728
David and Jean (Burnet) Mitchell - Montrose  B 1699
David Mitchell - Montrose  B 1677
My problem is cannot find wife,  for David  1677 , though I have tracked one Margaret Wilson though she is linked to a David Mitchill married in montrose with child David born at the same time..

Any ideas..mybe a typo with Mitchill ?

Hi to all..Searching for my GGG Grandfathers details and parents etc..
Robert Mitchell Born abt 1808 Forfarshire , Scotland.
My  known proven detail of him is from Tasmania where he married Ann Crawford in 1866, they had 2 boys and 1 girl who sadly passed in infancy.
He passed away in 1880. I am his Tasmanian descendant.
