London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Help? Irish Origins from Woolwich
« on: Sunday 18 March 07 23:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, Can anyone help.
I am tracking a Timothy O'Brien (also been known as Thomas with surnames of Brian, O'Brian, O'Bryan) born Ireland.
I am trying to find out where in Ireland.
There is a marriage to a Hannah Hart on 6th May 1866 in St Peter's Roman Catholic Church Greenwich in his name of Timothy O'Brien.
I am told that the parish records may contain more detail? Could anyone have a look for me?

I have tracked him and family in the census of;
1851 married to Mary with Johannah in Finsbury parish of St Peter.
1861 with additional children Margaret, John, Mary, Anne in Charlton Greenwich, parish of St Thomas.
1871 Married to Hannah with additional child Catherine Hart in Greenwich, parish of St John.

Presumably the children would have been baptized, would their parents birthplace be recorded at this time?

Any pointers of where next gratefully received. ???

Peter

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Woolwich Lookup request

Hi
I'm trying to find any information about John Brian c1855 and his father Thomas.
Information I have is from John's marriage certificate 1891.
It gives John's age, but I think he may have changed this to get into the Navy.
John's residence at that time was given as Chatam.
His father's name and occupation was given as, Thomas Brian, Moulder Deceased.
The family myth says that Brian was O'Brian or O'Brien again changed to get in the Navy.
I cannot find any mention of them in any census online between !841 to 1891.
John does appear in the 1901 Census and gives his place of birth as Woolwich hence this request.
Also a Thomas Brian's death is registered in Woolwich in 1881 age 61 giving a birth of 1820.
As you can see a lot of threads but not much to tie them together.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi

I'm trying to trace John Walter Brian married in 1920 in Loughor Llanelly to Catherine Anne Smith. They seem to have stayed in the area having six children between 1920 and 1925. Both have their residence as Penylan Road Loughor on the marriage certificate what ever this is. I have various other details but have reached an impasse. I am trying to confirm anything about them?

Any information or pointers gratefully received.
