Europe / POLAND Zeglicki and Zeglicka
« on: Monday 14 November 16 21:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hoping to jog memories or get further information.

My grandfather was Zbigniew Romuald Zeglicki (1920-1989) born in Rzeszów, Poland. Died in Walcott, Lincolnshire. His father was Kazimierz Jan Zeglicki (1895-1958). His mother was Honorata Kowal (1902-1961).

Exhausted the usual "passed down through family" information and online ancestry and genealogy hunting.

Looking for Pawel Zeglicki, Kazimierz's father and his wife, who we think is Bogumila Tokarzewska. Family stories say Pawel was a teacher and possibly was already married with children and was a tutor for Bogumila. Possible divorce or just an affair. Bogumila is Kazimierz's mother, according to family.

I've tried to find Polish birth records from Galicia ancestry sites, but it's proved negative. My hope was the surname Tokarzewska (male version Tokarzewski) which is a noble name.

Can anyone give pointers or help out, short of me hiring a genealogy company in Poland or going there myself?

Moray (Elginshire) / Jessie McLauchlan born 1870? Grantown
« on: Sunday 13 November 16 17:03 GMT (UK)  »
Looking for records for Jessie McLauchlan, my great-grandmother.

In the 1901 Scotland census, she had married Alexander McGruer and stated her birth place as Grantown (now Grantown-on-Spey) in 1870.

Her marriage record to Alexander on 18 January 1898 has her age as 28 with parents John McLauchlan (deceased, profession slater/journeyman) and Jessie McLauchlan (deceased, maiden name Leslie)

I cannot find any records for John and Jessie's marriage or anything else for them on BMD records. There is a marriage record for John McLauchlan and Jessie Greig in 1859, but can't be sure these are the same parents for my Jessie.

Any idea? I've gone through Scotlands People and Ancestry until I've gone cross-eyed!
