ITs a bit of the thin side, but I have a headstone in St Peter's Church, Belgrave, Leicester. All it says is W.K. 1872. I am thinking if anyone can find a match it is rootschatters!

Leicestershire / Two registrations?
« on: Wednesday 09 December 20 23:18 GMT (UK)  »
I am registered at birth twice with two birth certificates, (my mother is a shady charector).

Derek Charles Rowlands 1966 -Leicester MMN Baker
Derek Charles Dutton 1966 - Leicester MMN Baker

She was married to Peter william Dutton, and she had 5 children with Keith Rowlands.

My bio fathers name who she was with was Derek Charles Gauge.
She later married Jeffrey Goodwin who adopted me (a great dad).

Now to really make things odd, my other siblings are the same, all registered twice in their respective birth years across about 9 years, all registered twice, was this a family allowance fiddle or something else. Its crystal clear it is us. (I have sent for the birth certificates).

I am perplexed and unsure if I am legally married or allowed to drive!!!!!

Northamptonshire / Laxton Dead End.
« on: Sunday 06 September 20 19:47 BST (UK)  »
I have hit a solid wall and am appealing for help with:-

 Thomas Sullivan 1782-1826.

All events take place in Laxton Northamptonshire with the exception of his baptism. Where did he come from? Who were his parents?

Thomas Sullivan Born 1782 (gleaned from mariage and death documents). (no baptism at Laxton).

Married Elizabeth Bishop 8 FEb 1803 Laxton Northamptonshire. Both of this parish on bans etc.
Witnessed by Chales Hay and Thomas Deal.

4 children:-
Ruth Sullivan 1804-1821 (named after Elizabeth Bishops mother imo).
Robert Sullivan 1806-1819 (Robert is Elizabeths fathers name too).
Susannah Sullivan 1808-1875 (My ancestor). Married Thomas Hercock 1831 Laxton.
Thomas Sullivan 1810-1811.

Thomas was witness to a trial in July 1825 in which he said "I live at Laxton my house is in Mr Evans park, I am his servant, my house is close to the road". (This is Laxton Hall I believe).

Thomas died Jan 1826 and is buried at Laxton church Northamptonshire.

I feel there is more to be found in this line and perhaps fresh eyes might be able to help me?

(I have taken photos of a good few headstones at Laxton, Milleys, Woolsons, Hercocks, Hircocks, Baxter, Horsepool / Horspool and Harecock which anyone is welcome to, just message me).

Kind regards in advance.

Derek C Goodwin.

Leicestershire / John Rider 1680? Barrow.
« on: Sunday 31 May 20 10:17 BST (UK)  »
John Rider died 2 Nov 1727 Barrow upon Soar- Wife named as Abigale in his will dated also 1727

I have two children listed, Robert born 1703 at Barrow upon Soar. John (no details yet).

I estimate Johns DOB about 1680.

Rider is often spelt Ryder.

These guys had a good amount of money and good paperwork, I would like to know Abigales last name before marriage but have drawn a blank.

Thank you in advance.

Goodie.
