I wonder if anyone can help me find anything more about my father Albert Evan Price known as Van. He married Dorothy Kinrade born 1925 ish  around the time of the second world war - he was in the RAF and they apparently met in South Africa where her father John was possibly a frogman ( the Kinrades  are all IOM born and bred) my dad was originally from Liverpool with welsh parents  after serving in Kinross it appears My dad and Dorothy came back to the IOM and he helped run a pig farm > They did divorce at some point as my dad married my mum in 1961 in Yorkshire - I would be so grateful if anyone can help

I have spent the last 10 years trying to break down this brick wall . I suspect my g grandfather Albert Edward price was actually Albert Tongue - I can find him in the 1871,1881 and 1891 censuses as Albert Tongue living in Leominster with his grandparents Edward and Mary Tongue however I cannot find any birth for him on GRO, Ancestry or Find my past . Any help would be much appreciated - Albert Tongue disappears by 1901 however Albert Edward Price appears . I suspect he is the illegitimate child of James Tongue who married Elizabeth Hart in 1876 and goes on to have 3 children with her . Elizabeth is only 14 and a servant on the 1871 census so she could be the mother or maybe not
Any help with a possible baptism or birth would be really appreciated

Herefordshire Lookup Requests / Albert Edward Price - need help with birth please
« on: Sunday 15 January 17 13:17 GMT (UK)  »
Need help please - my g grandfather is Albert Edward Price ( on census in 1911 he is shown as born about 1871 in Leominster - on 1901 census shown as born about 1871 in Cholstrey in Herefordshire ) - I have his marriage certificate 1893 married in Hentland in Herefordshire of full age marrying Fanny Jane Ree - his father is shown as James .
I sent off for the Albert Edward Price born in 1871 in Leominster - this has come and it shows his father as William and mother as Sarah nee Goode so looks like wrong one
My dads cousin was born in Leominster ( he was her granddad and she said he was an only child born in Knighton near Leominster ? there is a Kington near Leominster and Knighton is in Powys or Shropshire not far away
On GRO I can find a Albert Price born 1870 in Kington , one born in Ludlow 1868 and one born in Knighton in 1868
I cant find any on the census with a father James and no other children - can anyone help please

London and Middlesex / Can you tell if an adult or child baptism please ?
« on: Wednesday 11 January 17 19:23 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to tell if it is an adult baptism - Mary Ann Nugent baptised in 1839 to Francis and Polly Nugent ( believed Mary Nugent as have death certificate of Mary Nugent who is widow of Francis who was a grocer ) however Polly aka Mary died in 1844 aged 59 so too old to be mother if it was a baby baptism and also cant find a Mary Ann Nugent in GRO in 1839 or therabouts but believe she was born in 1816 about in Hackney area of Middlesex

Have a real mystery that I would appreciate any help with - looking for any records for a Francis Nugent - cannot find any birth, marriage or death records for him - this is what I know from ancestry - he was born in about 1788 and married to a Mary - he had 5 children Catharine ( b 1806) Eleanor ( b 1810) Mary Ann ( b 1816) Thomas ( b 1821) and James (b1822)
in 1823 tax records show him paying rent in the Chuch Street area of Hackney St John . On 12 Sept 1824 he and Mary were witnesses to his daughter Catharine's marriage to William Watson at the parish chapel St Pancras Middlesex . In 1839 she married again and Francis is shown as her father occupation Land Steward but witnessed by Mary not him. In 1843 Thomas marries and father shown as Francis described as gent. On the 11th Sept 1843 James marries and father shown as Francis - gardener - deceased . In 1850 james applies for money under poor laws and in that it says his mother Mary died about 6 years before ( 1844 ish) and his father Francis died when he was a child.
Any ideas for how I can find more about him or Mary ? they lived around the Hackney /Barking area of London , Middlesex
