Been on years ago abut these two but still looking. Firstly Robert Fleming born 1854 Faskin and married Mary Young, Lived in the miners rows in Netherton in New Kilpatrick which is now the Anniesland area. I don't need to find out any more about him except why I can't find any report of his death in the newspapers on that site or on 'Find my Past'. Quick run down. They were at a New Year's Dance next to the Lock 27 where they stayed. His brother Thomas who was born in 1846 sat on a seat where a lady had left her hat with a very large hatpin in it. In the early hours he was asked if he could run along the canal to Maryhill to fetch a doctor for Thomas. He did so and made his way back along the canal towpath whilst the Doctor went by carriage. Doctor came and went but Thomas never returned to his mothers or his own house. He as eventually found at in a hollow between the canal and the 2 big gasometers there. This was 1st January 1897 Temple Gas Works. He was taken  to the Western Infirmary and died without regaining consciousness on 12th January at 3.15, The procurator fiscals report believe he fell from a wooden platform connecting the gas works an canal and a wire penetrated his brain. Suffered fractures to base of skull, lacerations of the brain and a subdural haemorrhage. Sorry that was a long story but it was unusual and happening in the early hours of New Years Day I thought it would have been reported somewhere. Then after that his brother seemingly died and was buried at sea but cant find him anywhere. Many Thanks

Hi. My Great Aunt Alice Harte was born on 18th August 1892 at Cooladonnel, Rossinver in Leitrim. She married John Devins in Sligo Cathedral in 1904 and they had the following children. Mary Margaret 1907, John Patrick 1913, Raymond James 1909, Keiran Henry 1906 and Shiela 1911.

Hi, I have just found a birth certificate and Marriage for a great uncle and on the marriage which was on 15th Oct 1945 in Bridgeton Glasgow he is listed on Active Service with the Royal Navy, His name is Patrick Tyghe born on Nov 16th 1918 at 8b Jackson St, Coatbridge. His family surname was Tighe but the last three of 8 children were registered with the 'y'. I have looked up all the usual sites for his service records using both spellings and can't find him. Any ideas? Pat x
