« on: Sunday 26 November 17 04:30 GMT (UK)  »
Michael Joseph and Agatha Walsh lived in Bo'ness and had a son (adopted) by the name of P****** . His father Michael was born in Cork City and moved to Scotland early in 1920 or so and married Agatha Hunter McDonald in 1929. She passed away in the early 80's. P***** birth record states he was born c1947 and never stayed in touch with any of his family. Any information is appreciated.

Cork / Carroll's of Cork
« on: Sunday 26 November 17 03:47 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to get some information on my Uncle Alfred George (Ginger) Carroll. He was born in Cork City Aug. 8, 1910 to John Carroll and Annie Murphy who lived at 1 Barrett's Lane. This was my moms younger brother and was living in Cork City as far back as the late 40's.

Ginger stayed in Cork and worked in the Irish Post Office in Cork city all his working life. He married a woman Maureen and together they had one son, (*). I have no idea where he went or where he might be now. Ginger fathered another son in Cork who from a young age went to live with Ginger and Maureen and Tony. This is about all I have and I was told this by a cousin that has no idea where they ended up. Any Leads will be appreciated.

Cork / Birth Record John Carroll
« on: Monday 30 January 17 04:32 GMT (UK)  »
John Carroll - my grandfather (my mothers side)

I'm trying to get a valid birth record - here is what I have to date:

Military prior to 1895 - 1901 & 1911 census have him as military pensioner

Married Annie Murphy Jan 22, 1895 noted as widower/soldier (5 children) Record of death was May 27, 1915

Prior marriage to Emily E. Timson  (no date) 1 Child Emily Elisabeth June 19, 1884 Record indicates he was Corporal 84th Regiment. Residing at Barrackton #117 at that time No other record of other children may have died in child birth? No marriage record

Baptismal record located for John Carroll 1 Aug. 1847 St Peter & Paul, Cork

This conflicts with British army record s that state Service # 1470 Regiment York and Lancaster Regiment - 65th & 84th Queens (Laois) which as a birth of 1846.

Any help & guidance appreciated -Thank you.
