Staffordshire / Lost Matthews family
« on: Tuesday 28 April 20 18:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am having trouble finding a Eliza Matthews in on the 1891 census, in 1901 she is living at Green Lane Walsall aged 40 with her children Elizabeth 16, Florence 12 John 6 and Harold 2. I think I may have found her in 1911 again with Elizabeth and Harold but under the name Elizabeth Stone, I found a marriage in 1884 to a Samuel Stone which could explain it, but I have had no luck going back further, if the marriage is right she may be with Samuel and children in 1891 but I cannot see them, any help would be much appreciated many thanks.

Staffordshire / Conditions in 19th century West Bromwich
« on: Sunday 20 May 18 17:19 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I wonder if any one would be able to help in knowing what type of area Parsonage Street and All Saints Street were like in the 19th century, working or middle class areas of the Parish, terraced housing or villas that type of thing. I have tried to look at the maps of the area with no luck. With help from people on this site I have a better general idea of what life was like but it would be good to narrow things down a bit, perhaps its not possible but many thanks anyway.

I am trying to find out more about his life other than what it says on the census, his name is William Barton, many thanks.
