I'm struggling to read most of the will of my 5th gt grandfather Richard Wing who was married to Sarah Triphook. He lived in Bickton, nr Fordingbridge, Hants and was a Yeoman.

Can anyone read the hand writing ?

Limerick / Eleanor (Ellen) Welsh married Robert Nixon in Limerick 1818
« on: Saturday 22 September 18 18:18 BST (UK)  »
My 3rd Gt Grandmother Eleanor (Ellen) Welsh married an English soldier called Robert Nixon at St Mary Cathedral, Limerick on 26 Dec 1818. He was from Norfolk, England but stationed in Limerick at the time. She was born somewhere in Ireland c 1800 +/- 2 years or so. She died in Jersey, Channel Islands on 11 Oct 1845. Their first child Catherine was born c1821 somewhere in Ireland, she then went onto have other children namely Agnes, Sarah and Frederick in England. They lived for quite a while in St Stephens ward, Norwich, Norfolk, England.

The above information took me many years to come by but now I'm stuck. I can't find any earlier records for Eleanor Welsh and can't be sure where she actually came from or who her family were and I'm 'desperate' to discover more about my Irish roots.

If anybody has any information or suggestions I'd be most grateful.

Thanks very much
Adrian

Armed Forces / Peter Parker 1785_1857 - Gunner HMS Prince
« on: Sunday 21 January 18 18:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,

My 3rd Gt Grandfather Peter Parker was, I believe, Gunner on HMS Prince when he retired sometime before 1851. Ive managed to find a little bit on him but suspect if I knew where to look there'd be more to uncover. In the 1851 census for Portsea, All Saints he was listed as a 'Superanuated Gunner'. It would be great to know when he joined the Navy, where he was posted and on what ships etc. If anyone can offer any more info or point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.

Thanks very much

My 3rd Gt Grandfather was, I believe, Gunner on HMS Prince. Ive managed to find the attached papers, but can't read more than the names and possibly the address (Aylward St., Portsea). Can anyone read any more or find any further info on Peter.

Family History Beginners Board / Hartill's of Willenhall
« on: Friday 12 January 18 20:30 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all,

My first post on here so apologies if it's in the wrong place etc. I'm looking for some help with the Hartill's of Willenhall. My Gt Gt Grandfather, John Bingham b. 1864 married my Gt Gt Grandmother Mary Hartill b. 1867 in about 1886 or 7 and I'm looking for information and relatives on my Grandmother's side prior to this. I believe her Father was John Alfred Hartill b. 1846 who was married to Mary (Daly?). His Father was I believe Isaac Hartill b. 1806. If anyone can confirm (or correct me) and/or provide some earlier history I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance
Adrian
