I am trying to trace the birth  details of Oswald ( also known as Antoni) Gojny
I know he was born on 27/11/1922 but do not know whether in Poland or Germany. Think his mother was Rosalia who was later living with Jan Widera but dont think they were married. At a young age he was in the German army but later in the polish army and was based in Dundee Scotland in the early 1950s. He married in Dundee then had a church marriage in Poland . Any help or advice would be appreciated

World War One / Bernard Haskett
« on: Thursday 08 January 15 15:33 GMT (UK)  »
My grandfather Bernard Haskett born 1886 served as a naval  boy apprentice aged 15 on the Lion in Devonport harbour. In approx. 1919 we think he served on HMS Cottesmore and in 1912 on HMS Vulcan. Is there any way of getting ship's company for these vessels to confirm this.
We would also like to know where he was between 1901 and 1919.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you

I've got Thomas Fransen  born abt 1859 in Netherlands and married and settled in Dundee. His parents were John Fransen and Williamina Scherichan. John was a ship's master, and Thomas was a ship's steward but that is all I know. Have tried Ancestry, and various other sites with no success. Most appreciated if anyone can help

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Jaentsch
« on: Saturday 13 April 13 15:17 BST (UK)  »
Struggling to find the birth of Otto Jaentsch about 1905. He had siblings born in Dundee Scotland in 1903, 1906, 1909, 1911. Family stories have it that Otto was born in Germany but doubt if family would have moved to Germany to have Otto and then moved back again. The family do not appear on Scottish 1911 census and as parents were not married until 1902 they are not on the 1901 census. Could it be that after the birth of the last child in 1911 they emigrated and perhaps "took in" Otto from another family. Just Guessing !!
Hope someone can help. Thank you

Looking for the birth of Otto Jaentsch born circa 1905 reputedly in Germany. He married in Dundee in 1934 to Isabella Middleton. His parents were Fredereik Jaentsch and Mary Ann Ross who were also married in Dundee Scotland in 1902. There is no record of Otto's birth in Scotland. and can't seem to find Otto's birth anywhere. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Thank you
