Isle of Man / Eleanor M Peel (possibly neé Acheson)
« on: Thursday 07 February 13 19:23 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for an Eleanor (aka Nellie) M (maiden name unknown as yet) who married Robert Peel (from Dublin, Ireland) c1890. They lived in Philadelphia, PA, USA but Eleanor was a native of the Isle of Man.

According to the US Census she was born November 1868 and the closest match I can find is an Eleanor Margaret Acheson born 29 November 1868 Mt Vernon, Douglas, IOM.

Her parents were Thomas Acheson (gardener) & Eleanor Acheson (née McGregor).

Is anyone else researching this Acheson family? Did any family members emigrate to the USA?

Thank You!

Wicklow / Webb Family of Co. Wicklow
« on: Sunday 12 June 11 13:47 BST (UK)  »
I am researching Webb in Co. Wicklow.

My 4x Great Grandmother, Jane Webb, married William Usher in 1829 at Killiskey Church of Ireland, Co. Wicklow.  It is possible, though, that she was born c1807 in the Parish of Aghold, Co. Wicklow.

One of the witnesses at the marriage was a Henry Webb, who may have been her father or brother.

William Usher was from Newcastle Parish, Co. Wicklow.

Mayo / Jeremiah Lonegan and Sarah Lish - Killala, Co. Mayo
« on: Thursday 19 May 11 00:36 BST (UK)  »
My 5x Great Grandmother was Sarah Lish. She was a widow who married Jerimiah (Jeremiah) Lonegan/Lanagan on January 25, 1771 at Killala, Co. Mayo.

The marriage record doesn't state whether Lish was her maiden or married name. She was living in Killala, Co. Mayo at the time of her marriage.

Two known children:

Jane Lonagan, baptised April 17, 1776, Killala, Co. Mayo.  Married John Rogers January 1, 1807 at Killala.

John Lonagan, baptised September 10, 1777, Killala.  Married Diana Gardiner in 1806.

Anyone out there researching Lish and/or Lonegan/Lanagan in Co. Mayo?

A Philip Fitzpatrick and Margaret Piles were witnesses at the marriage of John MicMahon (McMahon) and Jane Piles on 15 January 1855 at Drumgoon RC Church.

William Pyles/Piles may be the son of another William Pyles/Piles. They were blacksmiths in Cootehill.

William Piles senior was married to Diane Boyse/Baes. This could be Boyce.

Anyone researching these names in the Cootehill area?
