Montgomeryshire / When did Charles Davies die?
« on: Thursday 31 December 20 17:10 GMT (UK)  »
Good Evening everyone,

I have been racking my brains for months trying to find out when Charles Davies (my Great Grandfather) died.  I have his DOB and GRO ref for this also his marriage record and certificate but for love nor money find out when he died.

Charles Davies Born 1906 in Bettws Montgomeryshire
Married Glady May Gwilt 6/2/1926 in Llanmerewig

according to my Taid (Gordon David Davies 1934-2019) Charles's Son, Charles left his wife but would not give her a divorce due to being a Catholic and not believing in divorce.  He also mentioned that he may have gone to Canada or America.  According to the 1939 Register Gladys was living with another man and wrote Gordon's last name as Jones to match the new man in her life.  Can anyone please advise me on how i can find out what happened to Charles please.

Montgomeryshire / Struggling to find Marriage ☹️
« on: Wednesday 06 May 20 08:40 BST (UK)  »
Hello Everyone

I’m struggling to find any info on my Great Grandparents marriage. Gladys May Gwilt 1909-1968 born in Newtown. Her husband was David Davies born around 1909 and that’s all I know of him. My Taid (Their son) said they split up but never divorced as David was strict Christian and went abroad at some point.

If anyone could help that would be fantastic!

I have hit a wall with my Great Grandfather.  All my Taid can tell me was that his name was David Jones, born 24th December 1902.  He was with a lady called Gladys May who was previously married to a David Davies but couldn't get divorced.  Her maiden name was Gwilt and came from Newtown. Can anyone please help
