Kerry / The Bridget Brien Family
« on: Sunday 03 June 18 20:12 BST (UK)  »
I believe I found my 3x greatmothers baptism record in Killarney, which shows that her parents are, Richard Brien and Mary Mahoney.  I also found her siblings;

Julia, 1826
Nicholas, 1828
Edmund, 1831
Bridget, 1834 (She is my 3x great grandmother)
Mary, 1836
Richard, 1840

I then took it a step back finding Richards baptism record dated October 9, 1800. There are alot of Mary Mahoneys born in Kerry from 1800 to 1809, making it hard to find the one. His parents are Richard Brien and Julia Wren. Also finding his siblings;

John, 1798
Richard, 1800
Mary, 1803
Thomas, 1805
Julia, 1807
James, 1810

For Richard Brien and Julia Wren I have reached a dead end. I cannot not find a marriage record, or baptism records, or death records. I was wondering if anybody knows anything on the Briens of Kerry or could help me in my research.

United States of America / Charles Epping
« on: Monday 16 April 18 17:19 BST (UK)  »
A family story that has been told is that my 3x grandfather Charles John Epping died from pneumonia. After a flood happened at the Starr Piano Factory in Richmond, Indiana, Charles went in to salvage the pianos. These were his livelyhood since he was a piano mechanic. It was cold and wet, perfect conditions for pneumonia.
I found his death certificate, and it said he died from dementia which he had for 3 years. Charles died on June 6, 1905 at 46 years old.
I was wondering if his line of work could of caused the dementia since he probably was working around chemicals to make the pianos. Also if a flood did happen in Richmond, Indiana in 1904 or 1905.

Need Help.
Trying to find out about Thomas McClure and his family. He was born around 1853 in Missouri and died in Oklahoma but I do not know the year. I think that he married Elizabeth Leverett who was his brothers John wife. But Im not sure.

He had a step-daughter/neice named Fannie born in 1874 in Arkansas, she married Jasper Bell in Oklahoma in 1893. I know nothing else on her. She had siblings named Frank, Walter, and Allen.

I know that Thomas' parents are Andrew Jackson McClure(born around 1791 in NJ) and Sarah(born around 1823 in TN).

World War One / Carroll Sturgeon and Roy Chambers
« on: Saturday 24 February 18 01:49 GMT (UK)  »
I'm have trouble figuring exactly which unit my ancestors were in during WW1. One of them Carrol Wesley Sturgeon, was over in France as assistant postmaster. I have copies of his enlistment and discharge papers. Since its a copy there are some black blots covering some of it. On his enlistment paper I really cant make out what it says. Then on his discharge papers it says
Cpl.(Corporal), Casual Det. #1277 ? last asg'd Co. D  P.E. D or S   A.P.O.
Ive found a newspaper clipping saying the he was with the Motor Dispatch Service.

My other one was Roy Francis Chambers. All I know is that he was a quartermaster and he did go over. Ive found a newspaper clipping and it said something about the Kansas Calvary and company A. DOn't know if that helps.

Ireland / Looking for Dennis Kelly
« on: Friday 16 February 18 14:44 GMT (UK)  »
Theres not much to go on. He was born in 1829 around the January to June time frame. He left for the US during the famine. Dennis never got married in Ireland. I think he came from a southern county. Ive been searching awhile, but since his name is Dennis Kelly its hard to narrow down. Maybe a new prospective will help me.

« on: Friday 16 February 18 01:47 GMT (UK)  »
Jeremiah was born around 1818 in Tennessee. His first wife was Mary Jane and she was born in 1826 in Virginia. I believe that his mothers name is Mary H.. I do not his fathers name. So I would like to know what his first wifes maiden name and her genealogy if possible. And then Jeremiahs parents names. Thank you.

The Common Room / Military Help with Gilbert Bell
« on: Thursday 15 February 18 18:42 GMT (UK)  »
Right one of my ancestors named Gilbert C. Bell was in the Marine Corp. I don't know exactly when he joined or left the service. It was during the period of WW1. I do not know if he went overseas, but I did find a passenger list for him.

SS Lancastrian Date March 28 1917 Sailing from London
Gilbert Bell Occupation: Horseman
Where going Milwaukee, WI
It looks like Cowbr Sanatorium the writing is terrible

So I'm confused. I know the US wasn't actively involved in WW1 till 1918. Yet we still had soldiers over there, before then. So is this him coming back from the war or is this just him coming back from a trip in Europe. But why would he be going to a sanatorium?
