Family History Beginners Board / Trying to trace my earliest ancestor......but struggling!

With your help, I have managed to trace my lineage back to Richard de la Diakne, born in 1212. He had a son, John 2nd Baldwin Dakin Dakeyne born apparently in 1388.
He had a son, Sir Thomas Dakin born in 1410, who married Margaret Worthington, also born 1n 1410.
If anybody can expand on this, I would be most grateful.
I am also trying to find out more about Alicia de la Pole born in 1480 to John de la Pole, Duke of Suffolk and Jane Okover.
You've always managed to unearth information that I've struggled with, so I live in hope.

Family History Beginners Board / William Deakin

Hello again,

I'm searching for information about a number of Deakins, starting with a William Deakin, born on 12 November 1749, and I think a Will was dated 1765 in Wolverhampton.
I think he was the son of the Rev William Deakin of Lichfield. Born on 12 September 1721. I think he married a Sarah.
In turn his father was Francis Deakin of Lichfield, born on 15 February 1652.
He in turn was the son of Francis Deakin of Lichfield, born on 15 February 1682.
His father was Francis Deakin, baptised on 27 November 1651.
His father was Nicholas Deakin c.1630.
Before that.....nothing.
If anybody can help, I would be immensely grateful.

Family History Beginners Board / Birth details of Katherine Margaret Richardson.

Hi,

I'm trying to discover more information on the birth of my mother - Katherine Margaret Richardson.

She was born in India on 27 March 1918. I am presuming in Madras, but not certain.

You have come up trumps on a relation of hers, Urban Vigor Munro, so hoping you can help on this.

Family History Beginners Board / THE MUNRO FAMILY IN SOUTH INDIA IN THE 1800'S.

I am trying to obtain information, particularly the mother's name, of Urban Verres Vigors Munro, born on 11 April 1802, probably in Madras, South India.

He was one of four illegitimate children, born to native women called Bibis, and fathered by Major General John Munro, 9th of Teaninich H.E.I.C.S., before he married Charlotte Blacker in 1808.

Urban Vigors went on to marry Caroline Matilda Kohlhoff on 24 October 1832 at Cotyam, Travancore, South India.

Their first child was John Daniel Munro, born in 1832, my great-grandfather.

I'm hoping somebody can help, and look forward to any replies.

Family History Beginners Board / Searching relations of Margaret Thompson 1621-1697.

Hi,
I hope somebody can help me unravel the ancestry of my 9th Great grandmother – Margaret Thompson.
She was born on 8 July 1621 in Cumberland. Married Edward Bardgett on 8 July 1621 in Lazonby, Cumberland and died in January 1697 in Lazonby, Cumberland. She had two children – Kathleen and Richard.
Her father was Ralph Thompson – Born in 1596 in Kirkoswald, Cumberland. He married Mary Watson in about 1620, and they both died (undated) in Cumberland.
Now it gets tricky!
Ralph Thompson’s father was either Robert Thompson (A), born in 1560 in Watton, Herts. He married Elizabeth Harsnett, and died in 1620 in Cheston, Herts.
Or, his father was Sir Ralph (Robert) Thompson (B), born in the same place in the same year, who married Lady Elizabeth Harsnett in 1596 in Hoddesdon, Herts and died in 1620 in Cheston, Herts.
If Robert Thompson (A), his father was Robert Thompson, born 15 Feb 1546, who married Katherine Hill on 24 May 1573. I have no death dates for either.
If Sir Ralph (Robert) Thompson (B), his father was John Thompson, but I have no birth or death dates or marriage details, and no mother.
Looking forward to hearing from anybody. I am at my wits end.

Family History Beginners Board / The marriage of Major Charles Deakin

Hello,

I'm trying to find the date in March 1918, that my Grandfather, (then Major - later Lieutenant Colonel) Charles Deakin, married my Grandmother, Joyce Annette Theodora Braithwaite at St. Martins-in-the-Fields, London.
He was born in Birmingham on 28 Jan 1888 and died at Netley Military Hospital, Southampton on 8 March 1944.

Hoping somebody can help.
