Europe / Belgium help please, Van de poel
« on: Monday 18 January 21 20:33 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
My paternal Grandmother is Flemish, her name was Ludovica Van de poel, she was born in Herentals(along with her siblings) beginning in the mid 1920s.her parents were Frans Van de poel and Magdalena Smit, I can find no birth or marriage for either frans or Magdalena.
Frans's parents were Josef/Josephus Van de poel and Antoinette/antoina Broekaert(I have found Antoinette birth record in schellebelle).
I have managed to glean some information from the Belgian archives, which has been incredibly hard as I sadly don't speak Dutch.
18/09/1909 I have found a death record(I presume) for 1 of their daughters Maria sidonia Van de poel, she was 1 year, 3 months and 4 days old, and it says she was born in Farciennes, but the death was Herentals
Alos on 18/09/1909 in Herentals they register another child's birth, Rosalia Ludovica Van de poel(I was very excited to find this record as I have a picture of Rosalia as a child but no one knew who she was!)
I have also found another daughters death.. Margeretha August Van de poel born Herentals died aged 1 year, 3 months 26 days on 6/7/1914 in Herentals( I found her birth
10/3/1913 in Herentals)
I also found Michael Van de poel born 10/9/1914 in Herentals.
All children of Josef and Antoinette.
Would anyone be able to help me find marriage records for Frans and Magdalena, and marriage records for Josef and Antoinette and also birth records for Frans and Josef.
We always thought the family came from Herentals but it seems not, I have not been successful in finding records for Farciennes.
Any help would be very very much appreciated,i was close to my grandmother.
Many thanks
Danni

Hi, hubs gt gt uncle David Moore married Ada Huggins in wimbledon 1898,it says on marriage record father is George Huggins, stonemason(deceased).
We have found Ada in 1901 & 1911 census,. In 1901 she's in Norfolk with her daughter Elsie(David isn't with them) and she says she was born in 1871 in Marylebone.
In 1911 she's with David and her children in Wymondham, Norfolk, saying born 1871 in Middlesex.
In 1939 register her dob is 05 Dec 1870,she is with David in Norfolk.

Can anyone help us find anymore I for abiut her please? We haven't been able I find a marriage of a Prentice to a Huggins or Ada anytime before she married David.

Norfolk / Sorted thankyou
« on: Tuesday 24 November 20 12:14 GMT (UK)  »
So in hubby's tree we have David moore(1869 Moulton) married ada Emma Woods(1871) in stepney 1901.
On some of their children's births it has on the transcribed record (on FindMyPast) a mother's maiden name of Huggins, but when you go on the actual record, there is no mmn for any of them. The children are
Elsie Moore 1899 plomesgate
May Moore 1904 depwade(mmn Huggins)
Edith Moore 1906 depwade(mmn Huggins)
Priscilla Moore 1909 depwade
I can find no record of a Wood marrying a Huggins.
To make it even more confusing we have a photo here of a sybil huggins(the photo was in 1  of hubby's grandmother's albums)
Any advice please?
Thanks

Suffolk / Can anyone help me find Fanny Baker pls?
« on: Monday 02 November 20 22:46 GMT (UK)  »
I've hit a real brick wall with Fanny. I found her baptism in Stratford St Andrew 22nd February 1857(parents are William Baker and Ann brown). I can then find her in the 1861(with her family in Stratford) and 1871 census (with her family in little Bentley Essex, her father is a Miller journeyman but this is the only time I've found them outside of suffolk) by 1881 her family had moved back up to Suffolk and fanny is nowhere to be found? I can't find any record of her at all after 1871,no marriage, death, census record, nothing?! Would anyone be able to help please? I hate losing people like this, it feels like they're lost, silly I know x

Suffolk / Sent to Australia? William Hawes..
« on: Friday 24 January 20 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
My Nanna had a brother William Hawes(born 1912 in Braintree)  we spoke about him quite a few times, she told she was told that he"was a naughty boy and sent to Australia" she also said she doesn't remember him at all(she was born 1924).
So the family lived in Ipswich but then lived in Braintree for a few years, had a couple of children and moved back to Ipswich and had more children(just for background info)
Anyway I can find no record whatsoever of William after his birth. There is a death of a William Hawes in Ipswich around 1918(sorry havent got the details in front of me at min) but there was also other William Hawes born around the same time in the area.
I am flummoxed by this, I don't see why my nanas mother would've told her he was sent to Australia because he was a naughty boy if that wasn't true(it wouldn't be the kind of thing you'd brag about would it?) but I can find nothing on him whatsoever on travel and immigration.... Hmmmm help!! Where do I even look for him?
