Leitrim / Lannens of Leitrim

My ggg-grandfather Cornelius Lannen (Lannan, Lannon), born in 1840 or 1841 has long been the dead end in my family tree. His US Civil War induction papers list Leitrim as his place of birth, and there are 2 Petty Sessions records of a Cornelius Lannen in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim in 1855. Hopefully the same individual and not a doppelganger. He emmigrated to the US no later than 1859 and was married with a newborn child in Lexington, KY in 1860. Wife, Bridget Murphy (1840-1881).
