Antrim / First name variations?
« on: Sunday 13 August 23 02:25 BST (UK)  »
In County Antrim I believe that the first name "Agnes" is interchangeable with "Nancy" (from family records, numerous times).  So my question is: are these names the same:

1. Martha, Matty, Matilda
2. Margaret, Hannah

???

Antrim / Mill Five Acres, Armoy. James Paul.
« on: Saturday 31 December 22 14:50 GMT (UK)  »
James Paul, Sr. and Jr. appear in Mill Five Acres in the 1861 Griffiths Valuation. Both have a house and forge (they were blacksmiths and nailors). James Jr. was born c. 1814 so age 47 in 1861. His mother-Margaret Paul- died in 1878, widow of a nailor, in Mill Five Acres age 87 (born c. 1791).  James Paul Sr., therefore, died sometime between 1861 and 1878.

I cannot find a Will for James Paul Sr. on PRONI's website. The revaluation books show his house and forge being transferred to a John Gray but no YEAR is given in the ledger. Some of Armoy cemetery is online but no Pauls listed.

Q. where would I find a death date or obituary for this James Paul Sr. born 1790's?  Newspapers?

Happy New Year.

Hello:  I am looking for an obituary in a Toronto newspaper for a Margaret Kerr who died in 1958, aged about 83 years and was buried in Prospect Cemetery. The cemetery database does not give an exact date- sorry. Her husband Howard Cooke Kerr was also buried in the same plot in 1940. Thank you.

Lanarkshire / Drummond burial Glasgow Necropolis 1796
« on: Tuesday 06 September 22 00:56 BST (UK)  »
I have a death registration for a Margaret Drummond, age 60, died of consumption July 1796 and (buried in the ?) "Neceplous" (recorded 2 columns after cause of death.)

I assume this means that she was buried at the Necropolis.

Q.  where can I find a possible lair # and names of other family members buried with her?

Antrim / McClintock's in Ballyligpatrick
« on: Wednesday 29 December 21 17:21 GMT (UK)  »
There seems to be only one McClintock family in this townland adjacent to Buckna in Racavan parish: John in Griffiths Valuation and a Robert and James who I believe are all brothers. James PAUL McClintock died in 1917 age 92 and had a son named James and daughters Martha and Nancy according to the 1901 and 1911 censuses. From the daughters' birth records it looks like their mother was Jane Finly.  I am trying to find the names of these 3 brothers parents; mother was possibly a Paul born late 1700's or early 1800.  Perhaps someone relates to or has already researched this family?

Lanarkshire / Glasgow Duke St. Gen. Assoc. Anti Burger Church records 1760's
« on: Sunday 26 December 21 14:13 GMT (UK)  »
This is a real "needle in the haystack" search but I am looking for a specific baptism 1760 to 1766 time frame for this Non Conformist church. So far- the Glasgow City Archives does not have these records or know where they could be. FamilySearch says that the National Archives in Edinburgh does not have them. The baptism is not in Greyfriars or St. Andrews Episcopal registers in Glasgow. Nor is it recorded in any conforming Church of Scotland or Roman Catholic records on SP website.  I conclude that they are non existent.  Any last hope ideas? Thank you.
