World War One / World War One Driver
« on: Sunday 24 February 19 16:46 GMT (UK)  »
I'm hopefully going to attach a photo I came across yesterday.
My Great Grandpa was a Driver in WW1. Nobody I know has seen a photo of him.
My Grandpa was a Regimental Sergeant Major in WW2.
The problem is that this photo is the image of my Grandpa but could it be his Father (the Driver). Thanking you all in anticipation x

Born around 1836 Antrim. Went by the name Emily but was born Mary Jane Thornton. Red Rock? Mentioned. She is a mystery as is her Mother who is not mentioned in any records. She was my GG Grandmother.
Would love to know more about her. She died in Dalry Scotland a young woman having had a few illegitimate children. Known as Emily!

Armagh / Fawcett 1829
« on: Friday 27 July 18 19:50 BST (UK)  »
Hello all. My surname is Fawcett. And for all the marriages or not as the case may be (!) my family name comes from a chap apparently born in 1829 in Armagh.
The only other information I have is that it seems he came to Dalmellington Ayrshire to work in the Iron works at Waterside. He, and I’m assuming a brother, James Fawcett, show up as lodgers in a house in Dalmellington on the 1851 Census.
He did have a family with a girl in Dalry, Ayrshire.  He is mentioned as the Father, but completely disappears from any records I have seen. Thank you for reading.

Argyllshire / Malcolm / Duncan McLarty. Argyle
« on: Sunday 22 July 18 22:36 BST (UK)  »
Hello everyone. I’m wondering if anyone would be kind enough to supply me with any information they may have on Duncan and/or Malcolm McLarty.
I have all the details of Malcolm (1799-1868), the Taylor in Ayr, Scotland. All his sons, except James (who I’m off of) followed him out to Wisconsin.
Anyway, his Father was also called Malcolm, 14 Dec 1760, married to Janet Andrew born in Craignish Argyle. I think his Mother and Father were Duncan McLarty and Isabel Black.  Duncan was also born in Craignish! I can only guess around 1730-1740. This is where I am totally stuck. I can’t find any children and I’m not finding deaths etc. Did they come off the peninsula?  I don’t think they emigrated?  Any help would be much appreciated x
