Armed Forces / 19th Middlesex Regiment

Hi,
I'm trying to track down any information I can on my great grandfather that might help me identify his birth records. I thought if I could find his military records, they may help steer me. The only information I have found on him - George William Smith (but who could possibly have been William George ), is that he served in 1917 at Messines with the 19th Middlesex. Anyone able to help any further at all, pretty please!

Many thanks,
Charlotte

Antrim / Gaults and McKendrys
« on: Saturday 30 January 10 16:39 GMT (UK)  »
Hi I'm looking for information on the Gault's and McKendry's of Ballycastle. I believe one of my ancestors was born there, Daniel Francis - son of Martha Gault who later married Archibald McKendry. I'm unsure if he would have been christened Gault or McKendry, but if anyone can help with any name connections that would be great thanks. Charlotte

Hi, I'm looking to trace information relating to the children of Thomas Jones and Mary Ann Hobson. To the best of my knowledge, they lived at The Crescent in Edmonton (certainly by 1903, when my fiance's great grandmother - Beatrice Alice - was born there). Thomas was believed to be both an Optician and a Watchmaker. We can call a number of brothers and sisters, but are unclear if we have their actual or given names. They include - Dorothy, Martha ("Pat"), Bernard, Ernie, Win, and Ena. In total there should be 13 siblings but I have yet to trace many of them. Can anyone help? Regards, Charlotte.

Hi, I'm trying to trace the Dove family, originally from St George in East and then moved northwards in to Edmonton. I can trace the tree back as far as George Dove and Martha Stoppard, who then to the best of my knowledge have 3 children, Willie E Dove ("Willie"), Esther Isobell Dove ("Isabella") and Walter Henry Dove ("Harry"). Their mother Martha remarries William James, and they have a son Daniel. Willie Dove then marries Rosetta Roskilly and moves to Edmonton, before having 6 children of their own. Esther Isobell first marries William Henry West, and then later marries William Robert Pocknell, and they also move to Edmonton, and have 7 children. 3 of Willie Doves daughter then marry 3 brothers from the Buller family. Does any of this information ring any bells with anyone? Many thanks, Charlotte.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / COLLINS Family of Enfield
« on: Wednesday 22 February 06 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to locate a strand of the Collins family who lived off of Baker Street in the late part of the 19th Century. The fathers name was William, and he was a Coalman. He married a lady named Johanna Slater in 1889 in Hackney, and to my knowledge they had at least 6 children. I can name 5 of then up until 1901, courtesy of the census (Florence, William, Rose, Arthur, and Ellen.) The 6th child Im aware of is May Violet - born in 1908. There could well have been children in between these years I have yet to find. May Violet died aged 22, and is buried in Lavender Hill Cemetery, alongside her mother Johanna and her mothers second husband, Joseph Roskilly. I would love to fill in the blanks with this family, as its all a completely new focus for me. Joseph was my great great grandfather.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Roskilly Families of Enfield /Edmonton
« on: Wednesday 22 February 06 16:13 GMT (UK)  »
I'm looking for the families of the children of Richard Roskilly and Rosetta Hooper. Initially from Mile End Old Town, they moved to Enfield towards the end of the 19th Century. To date I have been able to find 12 children - Richard Charles, Frederick, William, Joseph, Abraham Henry, Sidney, Rosetta, Caroline, Edward, Sarah, Jessie and Albert - but in some cases know nothing of their families. Any help would be fantastic, thank u.
