Family History Beginners Board / James Hamilton
« on: Sunday 19 September 21 11:40 BST (UK)  »
Hello everybody. many years ago you gave me information which meant I could track my gggrandmother (flinter/daly) 👏👏
Now I’m on the quest of my paternal gggrandparents - James Hamilton
ThroughDNA we have linked to Hamilton (Illinois)
James Hamilton we believe was born c 1799 tynan Co Armagh. He served in 82nd reg of foot from 1818-1826 when he was discharged (pain thigh)
We can’t find a marriage record to ascertain his wife’s name. Could he have married in Mauritius where they were at that time?
His first son William Henry Hamilton was born 1827 - where we don’t know.
Next children Agnes. Robert F born 1833, and ? Samuel b ? 1835/37
Can’t find record of his death either or where he came home to!
Any guidance would be helpful
Lorna

Hello. I am searching for my gg grandfather john Fegan. I found his name on his sons marriage in 1874. His son was Samuel Fegan born in coleraine n Ireland and at age 25 I found him in 1861 census on the HMS Marlborough in Portsmouth dock. Samuel came to live at ballynaleck poyntzpass Co Armagh and passed the home to his son.
I would love to find out where John Fegan was born and who he married and if they had any other children. Thank you

Hi everybody. I'm searching for my gg grandfather Thomas Landsley (I notice this can be spelt many different ways. ). He was born Wiltshire England, no birth date as yet, served in 83rd lightfoot regiment. Served in Canada in 1842/43. Arrived back to England and then on to Ireland. He married Eliza Flinter in 1844. - we have that record from Northhampton. We definitely know he had a daughter Catherine in 1848 but may have had one before that??
He died in 1847, before Catherine was born but we can't find out where he died or where he is buried or where daughter was born. I would love to find out these details. Thank you.

Thomas Flinter married Catherine in 1822 but I can't find her maiden name. Thomas served in 83rd lightfoot Dublin 2nd battalion and according to records he may have been in Ceylon at that time. They had 5/6 daughters and I can't find their date of births. - Eliza, Jane, Caroline were the names of 3 of them.
