Census and Resource Discussion / Which is the best site to access the 1911 and 1939 returns?

On the 1891 and 1901 census returns, I was able to look at all the 500 or so people living in my village. However, I believe that when the 1911 census first came out, one could only look at an individual household and not even know who their neighbours were. Is this still the case? Which is the best site to access the 1911 and 1939 returns? Do you have to pay per individual page?

My father said his father had a dispute with Earl Fitzwilliam about the mineral rights under his house, which my grandfather won because his house was built on the course of the old river Don and you can't own the mineral rights under a river. Is this likely to be true?

My grandmother lived in Boundary House, High Street, Luddington, which my father said was built on the course of the old River Don. Can anyone verify this please?
