« on: Friday 20 May 22 23:48 BST (UK)  »
We are trying to find info on Winifred Barnett, born May 7, 1901, died February 13, 1925.  We are trying to find her death certificate, and also where she worked towards the end of her life.  In 1924 she was living in Eccleston Sq, London.  Any info on her job would be truly appreciated.  We are unable to find her info from the 1921.   Thanks so much,  cheers Bert

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Year and make of this old farm truck
« on: Wednesday 18 March 20 21:03 GMT (UK)  »
Here is a photo of my grandfather, Richard French (standing on ground) and my father William ( only the top of his head is showing)   They are unloading a shipment of grain feed in Western Massachusetts.   I am sorry the front of the truck is so dark, I know it makes it much more difficult to identify.   Anybody out there have any idea what the make and year of this truck would be.  The photo was taken in approximately 1924.
    Thanks for your help.  Bert

Surrey / Kingston Cemetery and crematoriium
« on: Tuesday 13 August 19 23:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello All, We live in California and are planning a visit to Kingston this fall.  We have relatives buried at the Kingston cemetery and wanted to visit their sites.  We want to know if anyone is familiar with this cemetery and could tell us where Section E is in relation to the front entrance ,  also the Wall of remembrance .? We have tried to get a map or directions from the cemetery email address, but have gotten no response.  Maybe they have a very limited staff??
I found the map of the cemetery on google, but it doesnt have the sections labeled.  Any help would be appreciated, we will be on a limited time table during our visit.  Cheers,  Bert

Hello Rootchatters.. I took a photo of this page in a scrapbook of my great grandfather and great grandmother. So the quality is not great.   It looks like there might be  magic marker in Mary's hair, and cracks on Elijahs face.
Is it possible to sharpen this up and somehow remove the background and the printing?  Elijah is pretty sharp, but Mary is more faded.

Any help would be appreciated from the retouching volunteers.  Thanks so much,   Cheers, Bert

Hi Again,  We found another photo which we would love to have restored and colorized if possible.  This is William Yaxley and his father, Thomas, taken in Llandudno, Wales.  We guessed the year as c.1900.  You are all greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,   Bert

These are my wife's Grandfather and Grandmother in their backyard in Boston.   We always loved this picture , especially Martin's tie flying in the wind.   If any of the volunteers could colorize it for us, it would be greatly appreciated.     Bert

Berkshire / Easthampstead Churchyard
« on: Tuesday 12 March 19 22:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all, I wanted to know if anyone familiar with the history of Easthampstead, Berkshire.  A relative of mine is listed as being buried in Easthampstead churchyard.   Is that the church that is now know as St.Michael's and St Mary Magdalene?  He was buried there in 1932.   Was there any other church in that village that would have been referred to as Easthampstead Churchyard?   Thanks for any help,
     Bert

Hello All,  I just discovered this old photo from World War 2,  of relatives who moved to the outskirts of London (Harmondsworth, Middlesex) to feel safer from the threat of bombing raids in the city.  Audrey, Frank, Bebe and our Mum, Betty.
From their expressions, it looks like they were able to feel carefree in their home, called  "The Quinneys", on Hatch Lane.
Thanks for your help,if you could add a bit of color that would be great ...Cheers!   Bert
