I have a DNA match on my heritage, I know he is related to my paternal side but after making contact with him he is trying to find his father. I match with him as probable 3rd cousin and we share 3 matches but this is where i am really confused.

We both match with Mrs A: Mrs A is my 3rd cousin which is correct but Mrs A to the other match is a probable parents 3rd cousin, 3rd Cousin, then we both match to Mr B: Mr B is my 4th cousin which is correct but to the other match is a probable parents 2nd cousin, 3rd cousin, then we both match to Mr B's daughter: Mr B's daughter is my 4th Cousins daughter which is correct but to the other match is a probable 3rd Cousin.

My question is am I correct in saying that if a parent is your parent's 2nd cousin then their child will be your 3rd cousin? If this is correct then how can a parent and their child both be your 3rd cousin?

I hope I have made some sense to the above and any help would be very much appreciated!

Please see attached - I am struggling with the name of Stephen Taylor's father and also the name of the second witness. Help would be very much appreciated.

My husbands 3rd great grandfather is William Stacey born between 1829 to 1831, William's partner is Emily Lowder, they never married but had 12 children.

The information I am now searching for is William's parents and siblings.

I believe his father is William Stacey born abt 1792 Iden, Sussex and his mother is Charlotte.

I have found William Stacey living in Shere, Surrey on the 1841 Census with his father William, mother Charlotte and siblings, Charlotte 1828, Ann 1832, Eliza 1834, Sarah 1836, James 1838 and Andrew 1840.

This is the puzzle, I believe that in 1841 William's father was living with Philadelphia Allen and not Charlotte, Philadelphia was previously married to John Sticker and had daughter Charlotte Sticker born 1828 Meopham, Kent, this is the Charlotte born 1828 on the 1841 Census.

I believe William Stacey and Ann Stacey's mother is Charlotte, I do not know Charlotte's maiden name or if William and Ann's parents ever married.

I believe Charlotte Sticker, Eliza Stacey, Sarah Stacey, James Stacey, Andrew Stacey and Lucy Stacey's mother is Philadelphia Allen.

Philadelphia and William married in 1843 in Croydon, Surrey.

I have found William's father living in Cranley, Surrey in 1851 with daughters - Eliza, Sarah and son - Andrew, there is no sign of William born 1829 - 1831, Charlotte, Philadelphia, James or Lucy on the 1851 Census.

I need help with trying to solve this puzzle, any information would be very much appreciated.

I am hoping someone can help me break my brick wall, I am trying to find more information on John Tattersall's parents.

My 4th great-grandfather is John Tattersall b. 19 Feb 1821 in Sabden, Lancashire and was baptised 18 April 1821 at Wesleyan Methodist, Clitheroe, Lancashire, England, I have the baptism record and it states his father is Richard Tattersall and mother is Elizabeth but I do not know her maiden name.

John Tattersall married Ellen Banks 25 September 1850 in Ormskirk, Lancashire, on their Marriage Banns it states Richard Tattersall is John's father so I know I have John's correct father.

I have found Richard Tattersall and Elizabeth on the 1841 Census living in Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England and also on the 1851 Census living in Habergham Eaves, Lancashire, England.

Any information to help break my brick wall will be very much appreciated
