Family History Beginners Board / Mitchell family

Hello everyone I'm building my family tree and desperately need a wee bit of help please, this is what I'm looking for:
I have a marriage in Dunfanaghy, Donegal 24/9/1864 between Robert Mitchell and Hannah McDade/McDaid, I can't find any births or deaths for either of these two people.
Roberts father was called Walter and Hannahs father was called Dominick (no details on them whatsoever).
They had a son Joseph (GGF) approx 1874 died 1955 in Glasgow, Scotland married to Mary McCurdy.
I'm trying to find out where Joseph was born and did he have any siblings. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi I hope someone can help me out I'm going round in circles thanks in advance.

This is what I have:
Great Grandmother Margaret McLaughlin/McGloughlin born 26/11/1880 79 Middleton Place, Glasgow, Scotland. Married Samuel Nicholson 31/12/1900 Glasgow.
Birth Certificate Father- Joseph McGloughlin, Mother- Rose-Anne Reilly/Riley
Marriage Certificate Father- Charles McLaughlin, Mother- Rose-Anne Reilly
Death Certificate Father- Charles McLaughlin, Mother- Rose-Anne Reilly
Poor Law Records Father - Francis Joseph McLaughlin, Mother- Rose-Anne Reilly

Rose-Anne Reilly/Riley 1850-1895
Parents Owen Reilly/Rose-Anne McLaughlin
all certificates are the same (sorted)

Francis Joseph McLaughlin died 29/6/1910 Glasgow, signed by son John, wife Rose-Anne Reilly
Parents on death certificate Patrick McLaughlin and Catherine Tierney.
Now... on his marriage certificate 25/11/1872 (according to Margaret and Johns birth certificates) he's called Joseph and his parents are James McGloughlin and Bridget Carroll

? Any ideas

Hi folks I'm hoping someone on here can help me any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been doing my family tree through ancestry for the past two years and it's came to a halt. I am matching up with second and third cousins through a lady called Ethel McCoy but we don't know why that is. This is the information I have on Ethel so far...
Date of birth 5 Nov 1895- NO CERT TO VERIFY IT OR WHEREABOUTS
Died March 1983 Kent, England
Married William Henry Bishop 1917 Kent, England
Married Thomas Bourne 1943 Kent, England
Father Alexander McCoy-a surveyor- died after 1917

I'm not related to Ethels husbands. I'm hoping to find out where Ethel was born and her mothers name. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello folks I started doing my family tree a while back and I'm really stuck at the moment any help with my enquiry would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.I have found my 4th great grandfathers marriage details his name is John Nicholson married to Margaret Mackay 1817 in Perth Scotland.He was in the 78th regiment of foot and his wife's father was Alexander Mackay from Nairn.Other than this I have no other information on John and Margaret especially John e.g. parents names,dates and places of birth,addresses,military info.Can anybody help me ?

Hello i was wondering if anyone could work this one out for me please.I have two birth certificates for my grandmother with identical details both registered on the same day but by different registers.Different births above and below my grandmothers entry on each of the certificates(not related to my gran).Any ideas why it was done twice by two different registers ?

Hi I'm wondering if anybody can find any info on a Mary mclachan on 1881 census saying born in Inveraray 1816 making her 65 at the time,can't find her marriage to a James Nicholson possibly born 1823,sons James 1856 and Donald 1863.A combo of mothers and fathers for her to choose from.Any help would be appreciated.

His father James Nicholson ( cooper ?), no place or date of birth.
His mother Sarah Nicholson maiden name Morrison, no place or date of birth.

Samuel's wife Margaret Nicholson maiden name McLaughlin died 16th December 1952 aged 72 at 4 Turner street glasgow, no place or date of birth.
Her father Charles McLaughlin,no place or date of birth.
Her mother Rose Ann McLaughlin maiden name Reilly, no place or date of birth. Thanks
