Antrim / Look up help please - Belfast death - William McBurnie 1934
« on: Thursday 18 February 21 16:11 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I have hit a brick wall.  ::) Any help gladly received!

I am looking for any information on the death of William McBurnie who was buried in the Belfast city cemetery in August 1934, in the same grave as his step son (Rodger Chandless) who was buried there in 1904.

His last known address was 35 Botanic Avenue (which I assume was in Belfast). Before he died he was living in Harrow, England.
He was married to Augusta Chandless in 1901.
He was born 22 nov 1872 in Liverpool - Original surname was Llorca but took his stepfathers name Mc Burnie.

I'd love to find any info on his death and why he was buried in Belfast with a stepson that died 30 years previously.

Many thanks!

Hello,
Is anyone able to help clean up this image of my great grandfather. It is a photocopy of a newspaper article and the only photo we have of him. Unfortunately to keep it safe my mum folded it in half to put it in a book... right across his face  ::)

Ive tried myself but I'm not much good so any help would be so gratefully received.

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Moses (Portsea) Help needed!
« on: Thursday 28 January 21 21:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hello!
I have come to a dead end searching for information on Charles Moses b1886 Portsea to parents John Moses and Emily nee Spencer.
I have him to two census returns for Portsmouth 1891 and 1901 (as a stone mason journeyman) but then the trail goes stone cold (pardon the pun!).
Any help would be so gratefully received.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Help with Census 1881
« on: Monday 14 October 19 15:16 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I'm trying to find an entry on the 1881 census for either Charles or Sarah Anderson.
I have them on the 1871 census at John Street, Mile End Old Town, Tower Hamlets. Id like to see if they are still there.
I have no idea how to search for the address on the 1881 census as the names aren't throwing up any returns and the dates and places of birth aren't proving to be too accurate!

If anyone can offer advice I'd be really grateful. I have a subscription to Ancestry but not any others.

Thanks
Ali

Census and Resource Discussion / Is there an address look up option for census
« on: Friday 11 October 19 13:47 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
I'm  stumbling with finding information on someone on the 1870 census. I have the address from a marriage certificate from 1863. Is there an option to look up returns just using an address?
Thank you!

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Lookup request - Mother of Martha Jeffery
« on: Tuesday 08 October 19 12:55 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I've hit a brick wall with one of my searches and was wondering if anyone would be able to help.

I'm looking for the mother of Martha JEFFERY (born 1801 Hampshire).

I know she is called Ann but that's all the info I have. She married John Jeffery but I have no info on him either.  I assume she was born between 1760- 1785 in Hampshire.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  :)

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / help needed to find WALKER
« on: Wednesday 02 October 19 21:35 BST (UK)  »
Hello, first apologies as I'm new on here I'm still finding my way around and I'm not sure of etiquette yet so if this is in the wrong place please let me know!

I'm struggling to find the birth of Augusta Ellinor WALKER born possibly in Bow between 1858 and 1865. I have her first marriage certificate (1879 Stepney) which has no father listed and her second marriage cert (1901) has her father listed as Charles Mellor (barrister).

If anyone can help find out when she was born I would be so grateful. I've been searching for her so long and hit so many brick walls I'm beginning to think she's a figment of my imagination! :-\

Thanks in advance!
Ali
