Down / 'Moneyrea Meeting House' County Down.
« on: Friday 22 November 19 02:22 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

A couple were married in:

Moneyrea Meeting House according to the ceremony of the Moneyrea congregation by licence by me Richard Lyttle.

Any ideas which church that is? I was thinking the Moneyreagh Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church.  It's been around in that area since 1719.

Thank you so much in advance.

Australia / George Gibson - Emigrated from Ireland/UK
« on: Saturday 16 November 19 15:10 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I have a Great Uncle who emigrated to Australia (Melbourne) on 2nd February 1951, on a ship called the Mooltan. He was born in 1921.

The ships final destination was Brisbane, and he embarked in London, England.

I read in an obituary for another Great Uncle (1960) and my Great Granny (1972) that he married a lady named Daphne.

Great Uncle’s obituary ‘Brother George and sister-in-law Daphne, Australia’ Jan 1960

My Great Granny’s obituary said ‘Her son George and daughter-in-law Daphne, Australia’ Dec 1973

Sadly that’s all I have. I have searched Ancestry, Find My Past, the Australian government BDM website, and can not find anything that correlates to my George.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏼

Down / Mary Jane Lindsay from Holywood?
« on: Saturday 02 November 19 02:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone :)

I'm looking for information on a Mary Jane Lindsay and her parents.

She married a James Cuthbert (Culbert) on 8 November 1867.

Her Father's name was Patrick Lindsay.

They married in May Street Church Belfast. It says on the marriage certificate that they lived on Holywood.

I'm not sure where to look to find a reference to her birth?

Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.
