Since yesterday when I turned on my computer I am unable to receive my messages in Windows mail. I am able to send them but am getting this message when trying to receive.
Message number 24567 could not be retrieved. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR inactivity timeout', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
I rang Bt but they said it was not a problem with them as emails can be accessed through bt yahoo. They suggested I get technical help with Bt but I think that would be expensive. Can anyone throw any light on this for me please. :)
Many thanks

Technical Help / Recording Tv from a digital TV
« on: Tuesday 01 March 11 19:57 GMT (UK)  »
Hi every one
I hope some one can help me.
I have a digital TV but no way of recording programmes any more since video became obsolete.
I know there are various machines  to buy to do this but I'm told some have a digi box included. I do not need this as it is in the Tv so what is the name of the item I need to buy to just record my favourite programmes. Please keep it simple and uncomplicated !!!
many thanks

Hello rootschatter.
I have a dear friend who has a very interesting childhood growing up in Ireland in the 1930s as a child of the orphanage and all that was involved.
She would very much like to record her "story" as a record for social history purposes  and has asked me to try to find out how she could go about doing this with a publisher.
She would like some one to record this for her as a ghost writer initially.
Does any one have any idea how one would approach this subject and who one would contact to find out any information regarding this.
I should be very happy to receive any feedback.
many thanks

Technical Help / Mobile phone unlocked now a problem
« on: Wednesday 20 January 10 19:23 GMT (UK)  »
Hi there can any one please assist with a problem I am having with a new mobile I recently purchased.
I am happy with my provider I am on pay as you go as I do not use my phone a lot but the battery has been giving me daily trouble in the mobile I have so I decided to get a bargain mobile in the sale.
As it is a different network to mine I had it un locked at a shop for £10.
Now when I put my own sim card in, it will not let me use the new phone as it keeps asking for a network password.
I have put several numbers in from the leaflets which came with the phone but these have all been rejected. Now it says I only have a few more attempts.
Can any one explain what is happening.
I have not put any password in it. I just took it brand new from the shop The guy took out the sim card and took the phone and unlocked it .
