Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / DNA ethnicity doesn't match parents!
« on: Thursday 29 September 22 11:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi all,
I am hoping someone can try to explain how I have 2 ethnicity regions within my DNA results that neither of my parents have in theirs. Is this possible?

Thank you
Lisa

I'm a little stuck and was wondering if anyone could help me.

George Randall married Sarah Meare in 1804 in Shipley Sussex

I have found a lot of children who have parents George and Sarah in this area, but there is another George Randall and Sarah that married in 1798 in the same area. And on the children's baptisms, it doesn't state the mother's maiden name.
How can I figure out which set of parents these children belong to?

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Cork / Daniel Cooney/Julia Sullivan (Look up please)
« on: Friday 07 May 21 16:58 BST (UK)  »

I am currently looking for any information on my 3rd great grandparents Daniel Cooney (Coony) and Julia Sulivan
The only information I know for certain is that they have a daughter named Mary 04 Apr 1849, Kinsale 1849. She later moved to Wales with her husband Henry.

I found a marriage for Daniel and Julia - 17 November 1846 In KINSALE, Ireland

On the marriage, it states the witnesses are TIMY SULLIVAN and JOANAH SULLIVAN

I originally thought they may have been Julia’s parents, however, I haven’t been able to find any evidence of this.

If anyone can find any other information for me I would be eternally grateful. I am really struggling with this search.

Thank you

Sussex Lookup Requests / Can someone help with a look up around Maresfield please?
« on: Wednesday 17 March 21 17:22 GMT (UK)  »
on SFHG I have found the baptism of Henry Jupp on 14th June 1772, Maresfield.  This record says his parents were Henry Jupp and Nancy Jupp, however, I don't seem to be able to find a marriage for this couple or any record of Nancy.

Could someone else look this up for me, please?

Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you

The Common Room / How to tell which parents are correct?
« on: Thursday 04 March 21 15:24 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to confirm the correct parents of my 4th great grandfather Henry Jupp who was born abt 1798, Sussex. On the 1851 Census, it says he was born in Maresfield.  I know his father was named Henry and his mother was named Sarah, however, this is where I have a problem.

There are two different marriages a year apart from each other.
Henry Jupp and Sarah Nye
April 1796
Hurstpierpoint, Sussex
But they were both born in Pulborough.

Henry Jupp and Sarah Boxall
October 1795
Pulborough, Sussex
Henry was from Pulborough and Sarah was from Petworth

Both these couples had a son Henry baptised in 1798

How can I figure out which of these couples are my 4th great grandfather's parents?

Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you.

The Common Room / Does anyone know anything about name changes in the 1800s?
« on: Sunday 14 February 21 14:27 GMT (UK)  »
Did people change their names in the 1800s?
I have a family member that has always been named David. His marriage certificate says David, his children's baptism registrations also name him David, However, we are unable to find any documents for David before his marriage and when looking into his parents a bit more, it looks like the only children they had were a William and a Lucy.
I am so confused.  This is why I am wondering if people change their names in this period.
Any help would be much appreciated.
