Australia Lookups completed / David Borland - Complete many thanks to all

I'm looking for help in finding when my 3xgreat-uncle arrived in Australia, on what ship and if he married and had any children.  He was born at Coldcoathill Farm, Tarbolton, Ayrshire, Scotland in 1826 and died in Castle Maine aged 61 on 10th April 1887 and was buried on 12th April 1887.  His occupation was a Builder and Contractor. He's been very elusive and I only know he had children and presumably married from his sister, Elizabeth's will but she didn't name any of them.  Can anyone help please.

Would anyone know if there are any birth records available online from Ceylon?

I'm looking for Charles Sydney Vane Morrison born about 1866 in Kandy, Ceylon of Scottish parents but don't know their names.  I'm trying to find all this out for a friend of my mother's.

Midlothian / James Borland - Bailie of Leith

Hi all,

According to my father my 5 x great grandfather was a Bailie of Leith in the 1700s.  His name was James Borland and he died in East Lothian - this is all the info I have on him.  I've tried googling and various ways to find him but wondered if anyone on here can help.  2 of his sons came west to Ayrshire, James and David, and a third one, John went to America.  Unfortunately that's all I have on him and have been unable to find him or his sons' dates of birth etc.

Australia / Cumming/Borland - help

Hi,
I'm trying to find relatives of William Cumming and Jane Stirling Borland who married in Glasgow, Scotland in 1890 and emigrated to Australia some time after that.  In the 1960s their grandson, Malcolm (?) and his wife came to Troon, Ayrshire, Scotland and visited my grandmother, Marion Borland.  Unfortunately I have no information on where in Australia they emigrated to and my mother can't remember where Malcom(?) lived.  Can anyone help or suggest where I could start looking, I've tried a few places but with so little information I've had no luck.

Ayrshire / Searching for Cumming in Australia

I'm looking for any descendants of William Cumming and Jane Stirling Borland who married in 1890 and sailed to Australia sometime after that.  Believe their grandson and wife (possibly Malcolm and Marjory Cumming) visited my grandmother Marion Borland in Troon, Ayrshire in 1960's. Anyone have any info on the family?

Hi,
Looking for info on the following children of James Borland and Janet Campbell, who farmed at Coldcothill Farm Tarbolton.  Elizabeth b. 1819, Agnes b. 1823, James b. 1827, Robert b. 1830 and William b. 1834.  I know Robert's twin Matthew died in Kilmarnock in 1851 but there were quite a few Borlands in the Tarbolton area all using similar names so trying to find the right ones can be confusing!!!  Any descendants out there??
