Shropshire Lookup Requests / Revina ferriday from wombridge
« on: Thursday 04 February 21 20:27 GMT (UK)  »
Hi this lady revina ferriday has caused me a lot of searching For her birth records and parents with no joy!

She is my 3rd ggm and married Thomas newell in 1837. Census records are consistent in her birth year of 1820 and her birth place as wombridge, Shropshire. After the death of Thomas she married again to richard brown in 1863. It was this that gave me information of her father named as John ferriday a Collier.

Please can you help in solving the mystery? I thought it would be easy given the unusual name but this is not the case. Revina became a popular name in my family tree after her, but I would love to know who her parents were and find a birth record to confirm this

Thankyou in advance  :)

Carlow / Henry Williams of carlow
« on: Thursday 04 February 21 19:28 GMT (UK)  »
Hi, henry Williams is my 4th ggf and i have struggled to find out more information about him for some time.
I have stated he is from Carlow, however I do not know this for sure but know that both of his daughters were born there. My 3rd ggm Sarah Williams and her sister Margaret were born in 1842 and 1844 from what census records say. They both moved to stoke on trent sometime before 1861. Sarah’s marriage in 1863 record states that her father is Henry Williams a labourer who had died by this time, and Margaret’s marriage record said he was a joiner. Both Sarah and Margaret were catholic and they both named one of their sons Henry.
What I would like to find out is who was Henry’s wife and when and how did he die? Did Margaret and Sarah have more siblings?
I have tried to access Irish records but haven’t got any information!
Thanks in advance  :)

Hi,I’m new to roots so not sure if I’m doing this right! I have been passed some photos by a fellow relative. She is unsure who they are. In this photo I suspect the older lady be my 3rd great gm who moved from Carlow to stoke on trent by 1860. I believe this photo was taken in stoke. And possibly the younger one to be her daughter my 2nd great gm with one of her daughters? I am wondering if they have been to a funeral given their clothing?
Thank you in advance
Sara
