Norfolk / WELNEY - the brickwall

Hello all from Melbourne Australia

I am banging my head again.

I need help with any sort of information about Welney - church, BMD transcripts, village life or references 1800+, places to contact for further help - anything.
I know this is where my ancestor was born in 1815 - from an IGI transcript that no longer is there - and nothing else.
The surnames I am interested in are RUMBLE  and KETTLE.

 :) I am smiling

Roscommon / ardcarn and tuamna
« on: Monday 16 February 09 02:34 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all

A marriage was registered in 1857 - Roman Catholic, Ardcarn and Tuamna.

What/where is this place?

I can't find anything specific searching the maps and so I can't pin down exactly the area this couple may have come from.

In the family tradions Cootehall, Keadue and Crossna have figured.

Would Ardcarn and Tuamna be anywhere nearby?

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / BRIENT lookup 1841

Hello all

Ellen BRIENT would have been a 6 year old orphan in 1841.

Her parents - John and Hannah BRIENT had died.

I can find Ellen in 1851 as a 16 year old living with her aunt [?? I think].

Can anyone help me out with this and see if they can track her down in 1841?  Some siblings would be a great extra.

I have acquired the G Marlow baptism records and now have more queries.

I am looking for the following marriages -

1. William EAST to Ann_________ about 1754

2.John WHITE to Amey________about 1754

3.  Any LOMAX marriages from say 1800.

Whoever thought of the Rootschat site idea is brilliant - I love the whole concept of helping and giving help in such a friendly way - GREAT  :-* :-*

Census and Resource Discussion / Meaning of "independent" in 1841
« on: Tuesday 08 January 08 21:31 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all

On the 1841 census for London if you are listed as "independent" what exactly does that mean?

I have found a will on UK archives that fits this lady's date of death and is also in the area where another family member  had a will....but.....to spend he money I really need convincing it is a worthwhile chance to take.

New Year greetings to all  :-

I am wondering if anyone could find Thomas East LOMAX and family in the 1841 census.

And - follow up the family in 1851.

His death was registered at Kensington in 1852 if that is any help to pin him down.

many thanks
Joy
