Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / LOOK UP REQUEST - Harker (West Witton)

Need a little clarification:-

I have Edith Harker b1828 and Edward Graham bMay 1828 married 20/03/1854 all in West Witton
1911 census shows brother Robert Harker 85yrs living with her.

Pretty sure his parents are Robert Harker & Ann

Also have:-
Ann Harker bSept 1820 and William graham bDec 1820 married 24/11/1849

Her parents are Robert & Ann and I have her siblings as Robert abt 1826 and Eden born 6/09/1828 again - all West Witton
1851 census shows
Eden harker 22yrs visitor and house servant with William Graham and Ann

I believe Edith & Eden are one and the same person. can anyone verify/ disprove this???

William Waterhouse b abt 1777 in Kirklington, North Yorkshire married Hannah b 04/10/1780. Married abt 1800 in Kirklington, Bedale.

Also Samuel Waterhouse b1814 Kirklington married Hannah b 1820.

All Kirklington area.

Anything else found would be great.

Looking for marriage/ further details for:-
William Wells born 02/02/1679 Woodhouse, Kirby Malzeard. He married before 1704 but have been unable to find him anywhere. His father is listed as Trustram Wells (but think should be Tristram) but can't find him anywhere either.
think his father is Tristram Wells from Galphay area.

Also -
George Wells born18/04/1714 in Misses, Kirkby Malzeard. He married someone called Ann in Ripon cathedral abt 1739.
They had 8 children whose details I have.

Also -
Thomas Wells born abt 1783 in North Lees, Ripon area. Married Ann or Dorothy (census records seem to have mixed up the names) abt 1807 again in Ripon

Any further details would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if right Riding!
I have William Wells b 18/05/1821 in West Tanfield, Yorks who married Nancy Waterhouse b 04/1823 in Kirklington, N Yorks. She died in 1869 in Bedale.
I have found about 12 children on LDS but not sure if all correct. Have been unable to find any more info anywhere else. They could have been located in Spilsby, Lincs as 1 of their ancestors was born there. rest are all Kirklington.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have her father as Thomas Straiton m Janet REID however this is where I come stuck.
I have come back to these after a long time & there also seems to be a Thomas Straiton married Christian REID around the same time. They had 8 children but not sure if I have got them mixed up. The names Janet & Christian (female) both run through my family. Janet & William had a daughter who they named Christian.

I have Thomas' parents as James Sturton m Christian barnet but need to make sure they are the correct line.

Can you help?

After struggling with the Hasties in Dumfries, I have now hit another brick wall. I have John Hastie m Ann HUNTER BRYDON in Kirkcudbright on 29/04/1864. Can't find birth or parents details. They had 6 children:-
Frances b 05/09/1864 Kirkpatrickfleming, Dumfries
Margaret b 06/03/1871 Troqueer, Kirkcudbright
William b 02/08/1874 Dalton, Dumfries
Ann b 30/10/1872 Tinwald, Dumfries
Isabel/ Isabella b 04/06/1866 dumfries
Jane Ann b 18/01/1869 Keir, Dumfries

They seem to have moved round several areas in Dumfries but I don't think Hunter Brydon is a typical scottish name.

Any help would be great.

I am looking for Polly Mary Sellars. I have her born 1893 died 1975. her mother was Mary Agnes Grant b 1869 but I have yet to find her father. They adopted MILLIE when they thought they couldn't have childrent & then they went on to have about 15 children, of which I have found POLLY, CHRISTINA, WILHEWMINA, GRETA, ELISABETH, MARIA, ALEC, HUGH & ANDREW. I think the sons died early in WW1. Haven't managed to get past 1869 so anything would help. Kenda1

I know my family are linked to Rabbie Burns somewhere but have yet to find it. I am stuck on peter Burns b 1824 approx. he married Grace Kerr Brown in 1853 but I can't find either of his parents. The whole of his family are from Dumfries but I believe his mother Jane was born in N Ireland approx 1801. Any info on his parents incl census would be great. My email address is

I am looking for any info on JAMES MCLEAN b 1845 Arghyll. He married MARY TURNER on 30/12/1872 & they had children Malcolm (b Dumbarton), James (b England), Isabella (b Greenock), Donald (born Barrow England)& Neil (b Dumbarton) but I don't have exact DOB for them.
