Derry (Londonderry) / Cassidy - Francis and Manus in County Londonderry
« on: Saturday 11 September 21 12:40 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find more details about a Manus and Francis Cassidy.

I have found a record of a Manus Cassidy who married a Jane McCallister, they were married in Tamlaght O'Crilly Upper, his address was Boveedy. Unsure as to when Manus was born or when he died, as haven't been able to find any other details yet.

His father is listed as Francis Cassidy on the marriage record, other than his name we have no other details.

Manus had a son called William, also born in the same area and married a Margaret Mullan at Killyguillib Church of Ireland. They had 12 children, I have already found most of their details and some are burried in Tamlaght church.

Antrim / McKeague Dunseverick Area - Name Varies, McKague/Mckeag/McKaig
« on: Wednesday 08 September 21 12:04 BST (UK)  »
I have been looking for the name McKeague around the Dunseverick area, seems they lived mainly at Aird, although the name tends to vary on birth and death records. So far the variations that I have found are McKague/Mckeag/McKaig which is making people a little difficult to find.

So far I have this:
Father - Andrew McKeague (1818-1910)
Spouse - Elizabeth Douglas (1837-1914) meant to have been from Tonduff
Their children are are buried at Billy church but unsure if parents are there as not mentioned on gravestone:
William Hugh - died 1951
Andrew - died 1895
Alice - died 1896
Ellen Mary - died 1895
Eliza Ann - 1895

On Andrew and Elizabeth's birth record, his father is listed as Daniel.

United States of America / Cassidy in Cuyahoga, Ohio - Links to Northern Ireland
« on: Tuesday 07 September 21 20:03 BST (UK)  »
I have recently discovered that my great-grandfather emigrated from Scotland to the United States. He is meant to have lived in Cuyahoga, Ohio and died around 1955.

At the time he moved there he was married to Martha, her surname varies - McClathie/McLatchey. They had one daughter together called Margaret Ethel Cassidy who was born in Scotland.
Although Martha had two daughters from a previous marriage - Ellen and Elizabeth Campbell.
They all emigrated from Scotland to the United States as Thomas was already over there.

We would love to find out what happened to Thomas and where he may be burried at as all we knew was that he went to the United States but now we know their was a daughter and she will have connections here in Northern Ireland through her father, if she was aware that he was married previously with sons.

Dunbartonshire / Cassidy - Kirkintilloch
« on: Tuesday 07 September 21 19:51 BST (UK)  »
I have recently uncovered more information on family relatives who lived in Scotland.

My grandfather was a James Cassidy who was born in 1911 in Kirkintilloch, he had a twin brother called Samuel. They were both brought over to Northern Ireland when they were very young. It would appear their mother who was a mary McNicol died and their father Thomas Samuel Cassidy went to the United States.

The other brother who was called William Cassidy stayed behind in Kirkintilloch and we would love to know what has happened to him, family relatives can remember him going back to Northern Ireland to visit after he got married but we don't know his wife's name. Though we do know they adopted a boy, who was called George.
Searching online William is meant to have died around 1985 in Kirkintilloch, though not sure where he is burried at etc.
His son George Cassidy is meant to have died around 2015 in Kirkintilloch as well.

We would love to be able to find out what happened to William.

Australia / Montgomery - Toowoomba, Queensland
« on: Tuesday 07 September 21 19:37 BST (UK)  »
I have been tracing relatives and have came across a William Shaw Montgomery who would be my grand uncle. He left Northern Ireland to go to Australia, unsure of if he stayed anywhere before heading out to Australia.

We know that he was born on 28th April 1909 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and died in 1989. He was also a member of the masonic lodge, a master of one around Toowoomba so kind of hoping that there would a record of him, and maybe photographs.

He is also meant to be remembered at the Garden of Rememberance in Toowoomba, but unsure as to how to confirm this.
We aren't sure if he was married or had any family.
