Dublin / Illegitimate child of Mary Jane Andrews
« on: Friday 29 August 08 12:31 BST (UK)  »
I am looking for the illegitimate child of Mary Jane Andrews. The child was born around 1904/5.  Mary Jane  lived in Co Down but it is thought that she was sent to Dublin to have the child. The child was possibly called Margaret. Mary Jane was a Presbyterian and she would have attended Rutland Square Presbyterian Church. It is thought that Mary Jane remained in Dublin and did not return to Co Down after the birth.

I am looking for an illegitimate child born to a Mary Jane Andrews around 1904/5. Mary Jane Andrews was born and lived in the townland of Ballynafern, Annaclone. She worked a a farm servant for her great uncle Sam Hutchinson. She was almost certainly sent away to have the child, possibly to Dublin. The child may have been called Margaret.

Dublin / Lawrence Knox - Irish Times
« on: Saturday 27 October 07 10:58 BST (UK)  »
Major Lawrence Knox foundered The Irish Times in 1859. At the time he was a young man in his 20s.

I am interested in tracing his descendents. Who did he marry and did they have any children?

Any information would be gratefully received.

Galway / Wallace
« on: Tuesday 28 November 06 21:47 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone confirm the truth of the Tuam connection in this story?

David Wallace, whose father was a solicitor in Tuam, emigrated in 1881 to Independence, Missouri.  He married Margaret Gates and they had a daughter Elizabeth (Bessie) Virginia born 1885. Bessie married President Harry Truman.

« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 08:10 BST (UK)  »
William Dennison (Denison) worked as a Head Groom at an estate at or near Manorhamilton in the 1860s. Can anyone help with identification of this estate.

The address" Lockris, Cloonclare, Co Leitrm" keeps cropping up in this story but I have been unable to establish who lived there.

Can anyone help please.

« on: Wednesday 26 July 06 07:55 BST (UK)  »
Mary Anne Emery was born c1844 and married William Dennison c1867. Before her marriage she was a cook in a big house/estate in the Enniskillen area. Where was the big house/estate? Where did she marry William Dennison?

Also she is believed to have had some connection with the Trimble's of Impartial Reporter fame. What was this connection?

Any help would be gratefully received.
