Having a chat about jack the ripper with some friends we got on to talking about the prostitutes and that there must have been more then those in the white chapel area of London.

It was mentioned that some of us have never actually seen on the census 1881-1891(for any boarding house where many prostitutes stayed) occupation prostitute.

Has any one found out otherwise in there search. or found that any ancestor was a prostitute during the time of jack the ripper 1888 and even more to the point around the white chapel area.

I have a Thomas Mills who married an Ellen Annie in 1885 so should be on the 1891 census,
Thomasa's father was also a Thomas but i don't know who his wife was. if any one could find either Thomas or both it would be of a great help.
 I know Thomas and Ellen were from the kilburn area so i should Imagine the older Thomas is from the same area.

i have a james liddell and a margaret ross who married in 1826 i know they had at least 1 child francis born about 1835

Limerick / trying to find maurice cleary

im trying to find any info on my ggg granddad Maurice cleary he was born between 1896 and 1900 in limerick he was also a school master i know he had a son patrick my gg granddad born limerick abut 1834 he married a an Ellen boddey on 2/8/1874 in marylebone London where the family stayed for years,  the family is not sure if patrick came over with his father or with some one else.  could possible have been his mother but we dint have any info on her we don't even know if patrick had any siblings, any information on patrick and Maurice would be a great help

i now a few people who are researching there family tree and often ask me for ideas as to what site i find most helpful or useful my first is always rootschat l always ask them to let me know how they got on and the replies are always the same. A GREAT SITE  very helpful and friendly.

i think with out you guys here to help many of us wouldn't have or know the info we have acquired.  keep up the good work and thank you to all of you who help the thousnds of people who need your help you really do make a difference.

my great great Gran Martha was living at 469 latimer road hammersmith at the time of her marriage is it possible to see if her parents john and Annie were living at the same address prior to this .

please could any one find a William George Burge b 1840  who had a son of the same name b 1870 the son was the second husband to my great Gran Ellen Annie  I'm told the younger William died in June 1933 in a car crash with a bus in Kent (billericky) also killing his son-in law john liddell it may be possible that there was a newspaper report on the crash any info would be a great help.

Hi I'm looking for my Flemming roots  i have been told there is an Ann Flemming born abt 1837 her parents are James Flemming and Margaret nee stewart most of my Scottish root are from lanark Glasgow so its possible the Flemming's were from the same area? any help would be great.
