I can't find my great grandfather and family including my grandmother on the 1911 census. I apologise for the long list below but it' s all the info I have found on him. He was a stonemason and worked away from his home of Erdington Warwickshire. In 1904 he was in London and by 1914 he was in the Hampshire regiment of the army. I've ruled out any known relatives' homes in case the family had split up. Any suggestions of where/ how to find him would be greatly appreciated.

The Common Room / Help to find a dancer
« on: Saturday 21 April 12 19:12 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
Could anyone suggest a way to find out more information about a man who was a professional dancer in London in the mid 1940s please?

Unfortunately I have no other facts about him. I wondered if there were any registers for professional dancers or something like that. I'm imagining that he was a ballroom type dancer that escorted ladies onto the dance floor or even taught dancing.

Many thanks,

Sharon

London and Middlesex / St Mary Moorfields Finsbury Circus
« on: Thursday 05 August 10 12:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
My 4x great grandmother Mary Ann de Nicolas was buried at St Mary Moorfields in 1826. The position of grave is marked as Vault 5.

As the church was pulled down in 1899, and replaced by the present church in Eldon Street, can anyone tell me what happened to the burial ground?

Many thanks,

Sharon

Is anyone else having trouble accessing Find My Past this morning?

I'm wondering if it's because of yesterday's annoucement that the searchable BMDs are online?

Thanks,
