Is it possible to find details of a UK couple who got married in Antigua?  Are there separate indexes for wedding abroad?
Thanks in advance.

The Common Room / father deceased on marriage certificate?
« on: Wednesday 04 April 07 13:39 BST (UK)  »
If bride or groom's dad was deceased at the time of marriage, was there any obligation to put deceased after his name? Could he have died and the word 'deceased' not be included on the certificate?
I have a bride's dad whom I thought died in 1838 not being shown as deceased in 1843 on his daughter's marriage certificate.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments.

A long shot but has anyone come across the Watts family shown in 1901 at 57 Bournemouth Road, Peckham, Camberwell, London in their research? Dad Edward E (31, furniture remover) and mum Elizabeth M (30) are shown with children
Edith E (11)
Edward A (9)
Ethel M (eight)
Rose E (7)
Elizabeth M (6)
Florence B (4)
May N (2)
Elsey P (8mths)

Elizabeth senior was my grandmother's eldest sister. My grandmother was one of 14 children and I think Elizabeth went on to have another 4 daughters and a another son.

Any information gratefully received. Thanks!

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / glass photo?
« on: Monday 22 January 07 11:07 GMT (UK)  »
I have photo, sadly badly damaged with a diagonal crack and chips.

From the chips at the corners, a photo printed on card can be seen and the bevelled edge glass is firmly attached all over to the glass - the layers cannot be separated. There is a cardboard backing attached to the back.

Can anyone please tell me any more about these types of photos? I know it dates from about 1900. Would repairs be possible?

Many thanks.

Durham / Meeting House, Bank, South Shields
« on: Tuesday 19 December 06 11:58 GMT (UK)  »
I have a birth certificate for the birth of James Dixon, April 10 1838. He was born at meeting House, Bank, South Shields. Does this mean anything to anybody? Was it a private house or could it have been a chapel? Was James born during Sunday morning service?!

Any help appreciated.

Northumberland / Help with marriage of Thomas SMITH and Ann please
« on: Monday 11 December 06 19:11 GMT (UK)  »
I'm trying to find the marriage of Thomas Smith to Ann. In the 1851 census, Thomas, a millwright, is shown as b 1796c in Northumberland Wark and Ann as b 1798c in Northumberland Long Houghton.

In 1841 they are living with 5 children born between 1836 and 1826 and an elder one had already left home so I guess they would have been married about 1822ish??

Not much to go on, is it an impossible task? Any help gratefully received!

Norfolk / Help with John Money please - Guernsey or Norwich?
« on: Sunday 03 December 06 18:17 GMT (UK)  »
I have a John Money b 1814c shown as being born in Guernsey on the 1851 census for Norwich St Stephens (HO107 1815 254 44). He is with his wife Harriett b 1817c and children Thomas (18), William (14), James H (11) and Maria (2).

I can't find John and Harriett in 1841 but possibly Thomas (9) and James (2)are shown with William and Maria Emms HO107 791 3 also in Norwich St Stephens.

I'm wondering if Guernsey has been mis-transcribed as I can't find any likely looking Money family in Guernsey. Are there any place names in Norwich that look similar to Guernsey???

IGI gives John's marriage to Harriett Leuden (this could be Landor) as Norwich All Saints 24/1/1832 and John died in 1858.

Any help finding John and Harriett in 1841 and any other information would be appreciated.

Many thanks
