Is it possible to restore and colour this photo-copy of a pic I have?  Unfortunately, I do not have the original pic.  Skin colour - olive; eyes - dark brown; hair - dark brown; suit - navy blue; tie - navy blue with small gold patterns.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Pat

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Could colour be added please

A friend was so impressed with wonderful work done on my mother's photographs that he has asked if colour could be added to the attached pic.  The uniform is a South African Air Force uniform - colour air force blue.  The curtain was grey; floor was brown; bride's dress was powder blue; bride's hat was white with black spots; brides's shoes and handbag were black.  Bride and groom each have blue eyes.

Many thanks.

This is my first posting and I hope the size of the photograph is correct.  Please help with removing the creases and, if possible, adding colour.

Aberdeenshire / My Surnames in Aberdeen
« on: Monday 02 July 07 13:02 BST (UK)  »
I am interested in making contacting with anyone researching the following:

Richard Lewis (born c. 1793, Wales; died 8 Sep 1865, Aberdeen) who married Hannah Watson (born c.1810, Banff; died 26 Oct 1866. Aberdeen daughter of John Watson, Shipmaster, Macduff and Barbara Wilson) on 12 Jul 1828, Aberdeen.  Richard and Hannah had 3 children:

Barbara (bapt. 4 Sept 1829, Old Machar; died 31 Mar 1881, Old Machar) who married (1) James Fox and (2) Alexander McBain;

Richard (bapt 7 Aug 1831, Old Machar) who married Ann Robertson (born c.1831 daughter of John Robertson, Shipmaster) 24 Aug 1851, Old Machar.  Richard and Hannah emigrated to South Africa c.1860 / 61.

John Lewis (born 4 Sep 1839, Aberdeen; died 3 Sep 1907, Aberdeen) who married Elizabeth Bissett Williams on 22 Jun 1864, Aberdeen.  John was the founder of John Lewis & Sons - established in 1870 - and father of Andrew Jopp William Lewis, Lord Provost of Aberdeen from 1925 to 1929.

Yorkshire (North Riding) / Joseph Smith (1823-1898) of Coxwold. Wesleyan Minister
« on: Friday 29 September 06 15:01 BST (UK)  »
I need help with Smiths of Coxwold.  I stumbled across a Death Notice in South Africa for a  Joseph Smith who died on 26 Aug 1898 at South Holme aged 75.  His birth place is noted as Wildon Grange, Coxwold and his parents are identified as John and Eleanor Smith.  Joseph, apparently, left a memoir in which reference is made to his father who was born in 1793 at Wildon Grange and who died at Wildon Grange in 1849.

I suspect John was a child of Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Duck who married at Kirby Knowles on 5 February 1782. Joseph and Elizabeth had a child named Thomas Smith in 1803 and Joseph Smith (Jnr) mentions in his memoir that - on 18th April 1889 -he attended the funderal of his uncle, Thomas Smith of Wildon Grange, aged 80.  I suspect the two Thomas Smiths are one and the same person and, if so, Thomas Smith and John Smith would be brothers and children of  Joseph Smith and Elizabeth Duck.

The help that I need is with the birth / baptism record for John Smith as I have not found an appropriate record for John on the IGI.

Is there anyone who has access to the Coxwold records who could check to see if John Smith's birth / baptism has been recorded?  Alternatively, is there anyone with access to Coxwold burial records who could check the MI for John Smith?

Regards,

Pat

Yorkshire (North Riding) / My North Riding Surname Interests

I am researching the following names in and around Old Malton and would like to hear from anyone who has any of these names in their trees.

Clarkson; Hick; Hood; Medd; Milner (associated with Medd, Hick and Hood) ; Nelson (associated with Clarkson); Nendick

I am also interested in finding out more about a Robert Smith Smith who was born c.1787 at Marton and who married a Mary Bearcroft at Old Malton in 1828.  Robert farmed at Thorpe Bassett until some time after the 1851 census.  He subsequently moved to Scagglethorpe where he died in 1859.  His daughter, Sarah (born c.1830) married a William Thorpe (son of William and Elizabeth Thorpe) in 1865.
