There is a remarkable distribution of the rare (2% of the population) Haplogroup E in Derbyshire. There is a well formed hypothysis that this dna marker is a remnant of Roman auxillary troops in the British Isles. For more detailed information read

Anyone with a known family history in the area testing for dna haplogroups and coming up with an "E", which corresponds to "Clan Eshu" in Oxford Ancestors speak, please make yourself and your results known on the Double Helix Forum at;
