When signing up for WW1 Ancestor put he had served in 2THRV between 1896-1900 .

Hello,
I have a great Uncle who was with the Swansea Pals until the end of WW1 not sure exactly when they were disbanded but anyhow he attested to the ROAC in March 1919 in Calais . I had assumed that men would return to England before the Regiment disbanded is this not necessarily so ?
Hoping someone can help .good

MY husband had a relative in this regiment in 1851 & in the census it gives his occupation as weaver, I also notice that several of the other men had what appear to be jobs not particularly associated with soldiering .He spent time in Wales, England , Jamaica & the Malta,so my question is did the army weave its own cloth then ? Can anyone help?Dawn

World War One / From Swansea Pals WW1 to RAOC 1921

Hi,
Can anyone help, great Uncle was in Swansea Pals regiment for WW1 but they were disbanded in 1919. I then got his marriage cert & found he was still a soldier after that & have since found was discharged from RAOC in 1921 but have not been able to trace any MOD documents relating to this. The information I have comes from a newspaper cutting & the RLC Archive website, does anyone know if there was a transfer procedure or something to cover this or where I might be able to find out more about this?
