Glamorganshire Completed Lookups / 1911 census look up please
« on: Friday 26 February 10 16:36 GMT (UK)  »
Please would someone be kind enough to look on the 1911 census for Axel Williams c 1910.    He should be in Swansea with my father John Reginald Williams 1910.     The  mother is Gwendoline Edith Williams though it could be Edith Gwendoline Williams as she used her name both ways around.     Another son was Basil Hugh Stanley Williams 1907.

thank you

Would someone who has any trade directories be kind enough to look up John Jenkins at the Tredegar Arms on a trade directory of 1822 and 1835.

Also Thomas Jenkins at the Golden Lion to see if he is there on the 1835 directory.   Thomas died aged 28 at the Golden Lion aged 28 on the 22nd April 1837 according to the Cambrian Index.

Thank you

Monmouthshire / Theophilus Rosser Jones
« on: Monday 24 September 07 11:11 BST (UK)  »
Dear list,

Does anyone know if the Theophilus Rosser Jones who was the underground surveyor at Bedwelty/Tredegar was the same one who in 1834 was sentenced to 14 years at Brecon Asizzes and transported to Van Diemens Land aboard the William Metcalf boat.   Does anyone know what he did wrong and also where I can find the information of the trial.

thank you

Glamorganshire Lookup Requests / Philip Jenkins c 1790
« on: Wednesday 19 September 07 12:19 BST (UK)  »
Please could someone see if they can find the baptism entry for Philip Jenkins about 1790.       In the 1851 census of Bedwelty it states that he is 71 years old, a proprietor of houses from Tregolwyn? Glamorgan.     He is with his wife Nesta (Nehusta) aged 71 born Marcross.

On the family search IGI I have found a marriage of Philip Jenkins to a Nest dated 1815 with the address Coedgae, Merthyr Tydfil, Glam.   I cannot find a baptism on the IGI for him apart from one with no source information available.

with thanks
