Lancashire / Frank Fuller Sparke - Liverpool
« on: Monday 12 July 04 22:26 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Does anyone know the where abouts of Frank Fuller Sparke on the night of 1901 Census?  I can't find him anywhere.  Born 1878, he was the son of Cornelius Sparke and Sophia Louisa Wiltshire and married Amy Thornton.  I'm lucky and do have a fair amount of info on him but I'm baffled as to where he was that night!  He was Mariner/Merchant Seaman so it is possible he was at Sea but I've no idea of the vessels he sailed on and so the search stops dead!
I know it's a long shot but I wondered if anyone has him at an address with one of their relatives that night as the Fuller is a bit unusual as a middle name!  His grandfather Joseph was a baptish minister and also had the Fuller Sparke.

Thanks for any little bit of info in advance!

Essex Completed Lookup Requests / Essex BLAND's... help!
« on: Monday 12 July 04 21:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi

Clutching at straws here but is there any one who can shed any light on the adoption by the Bland family of Tilbury, Essex of a son Eric Albert Theodore Bland in about 1914?
The Bland family owned about 4 grocer shops in the Tilbury area including Sydney Road and St Chad's Road 1900 and 1960ish.  For a time they also lived in Stanford le Hope.  Mr and Mrs Bland also had 3 other children of their own Edward(Cycil)1900, Gwen 1901 and Archie 1903.
Rumour has it that Eric's birth mother may have been from Belgium.
I know it's a long time ago but I was wondering if it may have croped up in anyone else's tree somewhere.
Eric served with the RAF during WW2 and married Elsie Sparke from Liverpool.  They ran the St Chad's road shop for may years and had a son David.

Any info no matter how trivial will be most appreciated.

Thanks
